Subtle alterations to this once dated house, have facilitated a contemporary lifestyle while retaining the treasured heritage character of the home. The existing verandah on this Federation style home was already a good size and proportiond, so simply changing the exterior colour scheme and removing some of the balustrades was all that was needed to create a lighter, more open and contemporary outdoor living space. Sets of french doors with fussy colonial bars were replaced with larger bifold doors to allow living rooms along the verandah to be lighter and more connected to the verandah and north facing garden beyond.
