My Kid-Friendly, Budget-Friendly Kitchen

For this kitchen update, we added recessed LED can lights, pendant lights, granite, white subway tile, new sink and faucet, changed out the window sill and added trim to the window, installed new cabinet doors (kept the boxes) and had it all painted. Plus, the cookbook shelf and the banquette seating. We kept the appliances for now because I couldn't bring myself to purge perfectly good Whirlpool's. The entire update cost was about $7,000 (excluding floors which were completed during our initial remodel) and we did not do any of it ourselves except for make smart choices. :)
