The project is located in the heart of Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. The client’s a young family and the husband is a very passionate cook. The kitchen was a gut renovation. The all white kitchen mixes modern and traditional elements with an oversized island, storage all the way around, a buffet, open shelving, a butler’s pantry and appliances that steal the show. The full renovation of this 3-story home located in the gated Royal Oaks development in Houston, Texas is a complete custom creation. The client gave the designer carte blanche to create a unique environment, while maintaining an elegance that is anything but understated. Colors and patterns playfully bounce off of one another from room to room, creating an atmosphere of luxury, whimsy and opulence.

A unique blend of visual, textural and practical design has come together to create this bright and enjoyable Clonfarf kitchen. Working with the owners interior designer, Anita Mitchell, we decided to take inspiration from the spectacular view and make it a key feature of the design using a variety of finishes and textures to add visual interest to the space and work with the natural light. Our client wanted a functional kitchen with plenty of counter and storage space. We created this design in the same footprint of the existing kitchen, but switched up some of elements. Adding a double oven, vent hood and pantry storage we were able to maximize the use of space.

We removed walls in the living areas to create an open floor plan, and provided space they wanted for their master bedroom retreat in their new second story area, complete with a spacious bathroom and a walk-in closet. We kept a large window on the front of the house that provided a nice view of the hills which was important to the wife and so she was able to keep an eye on the kids playing. While each member of the family was an important factor in the design process we incorporated room for a Jack-and-Jill bathroom between the kids bedrooms making sure to balance out the size of each bedroom and closet so neither child felt the other had better space.

Modern custom home nestled in quiet Arcadia neighborhood. The expansive glass window wall has stunning views of Camelback Mountain and natural light helps keep energy usage to a minimum. CIP concrete walls also help to reduce the homes carbon footprint while keeping a beautiful, architecturally pleasing finished look to both inside and outside. The artfully blended look of metal, concrete, block and glass bring a natural, raw product to life in both visual and functional way
