The barn dates from 1898 and was originally the carriage house for an adjacent historic home. The 1965 Airstream Globetrotter serves as a guest house and part-time office. The plant in the foreground is a Cigar plant--a hummingbird favorite.

During a cleanup you often find hidden treasures. This backyard had mossy boulders that just needed some Sword Ferns to make you feel like you were in the middle of the forest.

The front facade of the house was planted with decorative boulders, shrubs and grasses to compliment the modern house and provide an Asian feel. The gravel mulch was selected to compliment the color of house designed by Peter Cadoux Architect of Westport, CT. Low maintenance plantings were a requirement for the owner.

This cohesive family-friendly design makes maximum use of outdoor space for multiple objectives- hardscaping for dining and lounging, lawn area for playtime, and raised garden beds with integrated seating and pergolas for utilitarian use, architectural interest and privacy screening.

Dramatic plant textures, modern hardscaping and sharp angles enhanced this mid-century modern bungalow. Soft plants were chosen to contrast with the sharp angles of the pathways and hard edges of the MCM home, while providing all-season interest. Horizontal privacy screens wrap the front porch and create intimate garden spaces – some visible only from the street and some visible only from inside the home. The front yard is relatively small in size, but full of colorful texture.

Inspired by native limestone waterfall, and designed to naturally blend into the landscape but make a huge impression and impact, this pondless waterfall built in the loess hills of Western Iowa is a signature project and an absolute stunner. Its placement on the hillside across the driveway for the house provided a perfect setting to make a dramatic impact. The variety of small and large waterfalls helps provide scale and interest, along with making different sounds as the water crashes over the rocks to fill the air with a fabulous ambiance. The character of the weathered limestone helps the feature appear seamless and as if it is naturally eroding out of the hillside. Eco-Products reached out to Ecoscape with a new project in the spring of 2019. They were looking for help with water/drainage diversion challenge at their commercial property in central Boulder. The company's employee break room is adjacent to this parking area, so there was hope to make an outside 'break room' as part of the scope of work. End result is a robust drainage channel for the rooftop gutter water to flow-thru, and a low-maintenance patio space for the employees to enjoy!
