Kitchen Hoods & Backsplash Art

Was: White plaster & wood trim. As a compliment to the tile detail in the range backsplash, we added Venetian Plaster with a custom hand-cut designed raised relief basket & fruit for the center of this kitchen hood. This was a three or four layer stencil which allowed the basket and fruit to form. We sculpted the details to add more dimension. Aging washes on the lower trim over the Venetian Plaster & umber tones hand brushed into the crevices and shadow lines around the fruit basket gave old world charm and dimension to these hand crafted ensamble. It was a nice effect. Our client was happy with the outcome.
