Coastal and nautical touches abound in this living room beginning with the seashell rug, White furniture, casual upholstered sofa on a jean material, and shell blue fabric for the valances.

A bright and colorful eclectic living space with elements of mid-century design as well as tropical pops and lots of plants. Featuring vintage lighting salvaged from a preserved 1960's home in Palm Springs hanging in front of a custom designed slatted feature wall. Custom art from a local San Diego artist is paired with a signed print from the artist SHAG. The sectional is custom made in an evergreen velvet. Hand painted floating cabinets and bookcases feature tropical wallpaper backing. An art tv displays a variety of curated works throughout the year.

The very high ceilings of this living room create a focal point as you enter the long foyer. The fabric on the curtains, a semi transparent linen, permits the natural light to seep through the entire space. A Floridian environment was created by using soft aqua blues throughout. The furniture is Christopher Guy modern sofas and the glass tables adding an airy feel. The silver and crystal leaf motif chandeliers finish the composition. This adorable beach cottage is in the heart of the village of La Jolla in San Diego. The goals were to brighten up the space and be the perfect beach get-away for the client whose permanent residence is in Arizona. Some of the ways we achieved the goals was to place an extra high custom board and batten in the great room and by refinishing the kitchen cabinets (which were in excellent shape) white. We created interest through extreme proportions and contrast. Though there are a lot of white elements, they are all offset by a smaller portion of very dark elements. We also played with texture and pattern through wallpaper, natural reclaimed wood elements and rugs. This was all kept in balance by using a simplified color palate minimal layering. I am so grateful for this client as they were extremely trusting and open to ideas. This sitting room is an homage to the families past and future. It acts as a study, music room, and sanctuary where they can relax in quiet solitude or listen to the children play piano. A place to gather and share happy memories and celebrate family history. This room houses many of the families personal family memorabilia. The sofa and lounge chair were inherited from their parents and reupholstered in fresh new fabrics to add color that is joyous. The bookcases are filled with family portraits and inherited family objects. The light fixture when lit at night, casts shadows of figures on the walls. It's a reminder of all the family and friends they hold close in their hearts.

This cheerful living room with its vibrant prints has ample seating for guests, and looks out through bahamian white shutters upon ocean views.

The residence received a full gut renovation to create a modern coastal retreat vacation home. This was achieved by using a neutral color pallet of sands and blues with organic accents juxtaposed with custom furniture’s clean lines and soft textures.
