Welcome to our latest project—a stunning pondless waterfall inspired by the majestic Banff waterfalls, seamlessly integrated into our clients' backyard oasis. Our team took special care to craft a unique experience, opting for a pondless design for minimal maintenance and maximum aesthetic impact. For the patio and slab stepping stones, we chose Barkman Concrete grand flagstone in the sophisticated Pacific Grey color. The choice of materials not only ensures durability but also adds a touch of elegance to the overall design. One of the distinctive features of this project is the meticulous scribing of the flagstone to mirror the natural curvature of the boulders. This technique not only enhances the visual appeal but also showcases the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that defines our work. Our goal was to create a space that stands out and transports the tranquility and beauty of Banff's waterfalls right into our clients' backyard. Located on Lake Champlain, this landscape installation provided stone steps and landings to give access to the water. It was designed to work within the existing mountain side. Wildflower plantings were used to protect against erosion on the bank. A spa was strategically placed to be hidden from the house but still maintain a beautiful view.

Wrapped in lush oak and pine tree canopy, the home feels as if it could be located deep in the mountains. Palm trees, sentimental for the owners, are kept free of any dry material for fire safety.

Simply gorgeous at tour time, the water positive features at the Retreat go to work during rainy season. Expansive tree canopy slows rainfall. Large shrubs and ground covers help spread it. Rock bands in the driveway catch and redirect it into planted spaces. Bioswales help the garden sink water into the groundwater table. In fall and winter, the copper leaves of a Western Redbud add a pop of seasonal color to an abundance of lush, leafy greenery. Along the right, several native holly leafed cherry shrubs define the property line, providing privacy as they feed the birds.

An abundance of blooms fill the Retreat with color in spring. "Very Peri" Cleveland Sage and bright green Dwarf Coyote Bush define the property line. In the distance, the delicate blooms of fragrant White and Pitcher Sages stretch out toward the street.

In LA, we need to do more than save water, it is critical for us to we sink it. The varied topography and bioswales in the front garden direct water into the ground to fuel the garden's beauty and LA's water independence. Can you believe something so practical can be so pretty?
