Ce jardin urbain a été conçu pour dynamiser un terrain de forme carré et offrir une palette florale généreuse, grâce à une composition habile de massifs abondamment plantés. Des courbes énergisantes entourent une sélection de plantes aimant le soleil : agrumes, lantana, pistachier lentisque, pittosporum nain, sauge de Russie, lavande, lys d'un jour, agapanthe, menthe des chats et fines herbes. Des fleurs à couleurs complémentaires envoient une invitation au "carpe diem", en tant qu'expressions éphémères d'une beauté intemporelle. Outre son effet apaisant, la pièce d'eau sert d'écran acoustique par rapport au contexte urbain environnant. L'attention portée aux détails et les contours inattendus font de ce jardin à la fois une peinture à contempler et un espace pour des fêtes intimes.

Provence comes to California

Sweet Smiling Landscapes

This beautiful property is located in the hills above of Montecito with 360 degree of views onto the Channel Islands and the surrounding mountains. Inspired by the Japanese landscape design principal of the borrowed landscape the gardens on this property serves as a kind of picture frame from which to view the natural beauty of its surroundings. This 15-year-old costume-built home was crafted with all the style and workmanship ship found in Villa or Château in the Mediterranean. Unfortunately, the garden design was not as well thought out as the house was. Most of this property receives baking sun, drying winds and is in an extremely high fire danger area. Do to these factors many of the plants on the property were unsuitable for their location. The original planting scheme was also lifeless and colorless. Poor landscape maintenance had left many of the plants on the property sick and dying. We came in to revive this landscape, breathing new life into it. Creating a drought tolerant and fire wise landscape was of utmost importance to these clients. Staying true to the more formal landscape styles found in Southern Europe we also want to create an opportunity to design seamlessly blend with its natural surroundings. We did that by incorporating a lot of California native plants. This vast property also contains an avocado orchard and a vineyard. By adding California native plants the property is inviting in native birds and insects that help keep pollinate the orchard and vineyard and keep pest problems at bay. Because these clients enjoy harvesting from their land we added elements of edible landscaping to this project. We filled pottery and planter beds with fruit trees, culinary and medicinal herbs as well as flowers that can be used in cut flower arrangements. Lastly, we went through carefully pruning diseased plants, treating pest problems an improving the soil. Now the landscape is not only more beautiful it is more protected against fire, is more water wise and integrate into its surrounds with a wholistic approach.

Customer wanted to ditch their grass yard in favor of colorful native plants that would create a charming scene for friends and neighbors alike. They dreamed of a gathering space in their front yard that looked out over their native plantings, so we added a seating area with cafe lights and raised steel planters so that the plantings could be enjoyed while seated. Black star gravel was added for furniture and plant contrast, making them pop against the home and landscaping.

Situé sur un versant exposé à l'ouest, ce site est encerclé par un vaste bois. Une majestueuse bâtisse provençale est révélée au bout d'une longue allée carrossable en gravier, enlacée par une végétation abondante. Les grands chênes remarquables, ainsi que les cyprès, les oliviers et les pins, procurent de merveilleuses superpositions au sein de la propriété. Après être passé à côté d'une roseraie encadrée par deux arches en fer forgé, et avoir traversé une cour ombragée, le chemin mène vers des terrasses étendues entourant une piscine, surplombant vallées et collines ondoyantes. Une grande oliveraie complète la propriété – expression joyeuses de l'été dans le Pays de Fayence.

Открытый бассейн может стать яркой составляющей вашей общей идеи для сада, однако подойдите к вопросу с умом и оцените, есть ли у вас достаточно пространства, и готов ли к этому ваш бюджет. Подумайте, сколько солнечных дней в году в вашей климатической зоне и нужен ли вам открытый бассейн вообще. Вариантом, который сэкономит вам и деньги, и место, может стать надувной или каркасный бассейн — их относительно легко монтировать и демонтировать, к тому же, за ними легко ухаживать. Не бойтесь экспериментировать.
