Farm Tables
The feet on this reclaimed wood table are really fun. They are a build-up of wood pieces, then strapped together with original hand hammered iron. Functional pegs keep the stretcher in place. The stretcher is a play off of a "scarf joint" often found on long spans in barns. Our blacksmith hammered out colonial style straps with what is called a forge weld. Once you pull the orange hot metal out of the fire, you only get about 2 strikes with the hammer to join the pieces together. Reclaimed Red Oak. Click on the link for more pictures.
