A place for everything and everything in its place. The island houses a dishwasher, recycling center, and drawers for silverware, placemats, napkins and other accoutrements which make it easy to set the seating area. The drawers under the window seat store less frequently used items. The warm color scheme of gold, rust and persimmon was selected to harmonize with copper. The floor was refinished to a rich, deep brown from the original white oak, an important element in updating the home.
