Cape May Roof Trusses

Hugh Lofting Timber Framing’s heavy timber roof trusses provided the structural integrity for the front to back two-story space of this Cape May beach house. The modified king trusses used throughout the home were stained a dark brown to provide contrast against the old-fashioned white bead-board ceiling. The roof truss system runs front to back of the house and allows for broad expanses of windows that overlook the ocean on both levels. Exposed trusses also become a feature at night when you're looking in from the outside. Photos By: Leslie Kipp
