Residential Installation, Merit Award by Architectural Landscape Design, Inc. & Jamie Fox Landscaping, Inc., Cincinnati, OH. The owners of this home are avid travelers who love the aesthetics of traditional French and English gardens. The estate-like appearance from the front of the home capture the client’s desired European-feel, with a bird bath and elegant trellis framing the yard. A balanced landscape, with a hint of formality was the goal in this project, shown through the contrast of boxwood hedges and textured flower beds. With the perfect view of the backyard, the bench acts as a design focal point and a lovely place to rest while gardening. Locally-acquired stone provides structure as well as an elevated space for seasonal color. The arched arbor in the rear of the home is draped in wisteria vines, while lounging areas are gently separated by pink roses and purple Angelonia. Personal elements were incorporated into the back patio design, like the stone-top antique table, to serve as constant reminders of favorite places and trips.
