Garden Structures, Grand Award by Hidden Creek Landscaping, Columbus, OH. This unique outdoor kitchen design functions as both entertainment space and artistic expression. Architectural features of the home are drawn into the design and joined with the modern influences that the client prefers. The four columns supporting the structure’s roof are comprised of four tube steel pieces, which are separated to allow for lighting installation. These columns hold the steel constructed roof, which weighs nearly three tons. The richness and warmth of the cedar planking contrasts nicely with the steel. The roof was curved to blend this new outdoor structure with the look for the home. The rounded appearance mirrors the window shown in the background. Thin, black slate stone was used to craft the kitchen’s veneer, and adds shimmering horizontal lines that balance the rooftop. For the counter, white granite veined with gray completes the color palette and connects the silver travertine patio.
