Hi Miriam, good question. This is a great product that we love using. It's a concrete slab with a pavillion finish. This means the concrete is ground down to leave the aggregate exposed and then it's acid washed so the cement ends up slightly recessed compared to the aggregate, giving it a nice non-slip finish for the outdoors.
