A very light green would work well in your room. It also goes very well, with your stained wood work.. No grays or beige in there.

Maybe you would like BM Pale Oak or Balboa Mist. They're not as gray as Stonington Gray and don't have a blue undertone. They're a little lighter than Collingwood. Cool grays may not look good with your wood trim. But if you're planning on getting a new comforter you should do that first before choosing a wall color. It's easier to match a paint color to something else than to try to do it the other way.

i am thinking of green which is what i originally thought of. i have not found a new comforter that i like at this time, so i'm keeping the lavendar and white for now. i thought grey to not keep me boxed in to a particular color scheme, but i agree with the above that a grey with the wood will not work. i also dont want to go beige as most of my first floor is beige. i see alot of blue comforters out there but i already had a blue bedroom. i have several samples currently hanging on the wall: BM Vale Mist, SW Sea Salt, and BM 694, 695, and 696. i'll try to post some pictures of the room. thank you Flo

So IMO a bedroom decor starts with the bedding and we need to see that. I like this color for a real neutral but honestly post a pic of the space , and the new bedding then you get actual help.

This is BM and I often cut it 25-50% depending on the space . BTW guys love wood who knows why. I am not sure how long you have been married but for me I just carry on doing what I want with decor and sometimes hubby does not even click rigght away. I have been married for 60+ years though. I think this would be great even with the old bedding a caouple of pillows with all 3 colors can work The wood pick your battles

Spent the afternoon looking again on line at comforters. May have found one that will allow grey walls. Husband is ok with painting the wood trim. We will still have the dark wood furniture but it is what it is...

Oak is tough to cover often the grain shows through. You got so many great suggestions of colors that aren't gray. Gray is depressing especially in a bedroom. Rather than choose a comforter or gray walls choose a comforter you BOTH LOVE.

No gray please. Patricia above posts the aloe quite often, and I dont always agree with that, but, this time, I do. Try a sample of that healing aloe. I would also leave the wood, and not paint it white.

We had off white trim and doors. We painted them with a whiter white. Doors are fine but after a few years the trim, especially floorboards, have begun to show wear and tear where anything such as the vacuum and furniture has hit them.

thank you all for your suggestions. i have revisited the comforter issue and have ordered 3, 2 of which i received so far. i'm looking for something that will coordinate with green walls. we may or may not paint the molding but as i said above the wood furniture is what it is. also we are considering redoing the floors. right now we have carpeting, but have oak floors underneath. we have refinished most all of them in the rest of the house with a dark cherry stain. i like the heallng aloe and the sw sea salt . i should buy shares in samplize. thanks again
