American Walnut in common with most timbers will gently mellow with age. Exposure to strong UV light will darken the timber initially to a more mature brown shade. If continuously exposed to strong sunlight - solid timbers/veneers can be bleached over a period of time to a lighter colour. UV inhibitors are used in all Stoneham Clear lacquers to lessen the effects of this process.
