The intent is that it does not have effort to maintain as not sealer is applied. Just damp mop. So far, that has been our experience. The key is working with a reliable sub contractor on the burnishing of polished concrete, new or renovation. If new, slab preparation and pour is a critical step. This slab floor had no color added but did have a custom aggregate and finishing sanded down to aggregate. Options are several and an experience contractor and architect can assist with specifications appropriate to your region. I will add, that our design insulates the slab edge if you are involved with new construction.
