Location of the toilet relative to the bed

I love the design, good job! I'm planning something similar for my next build, but I need to ask - how do you stop the poo smell from getting into the bedroom? What if your partner is in the bedroom and you really need to go? I know I have a 'funny' username but this is a legit question.

i have an open ensuite & don't have that problem as we have a fan above which we turn on

Thanks for your comments Simon. This particular bedroom & ensuite is a Detached Guest Bedroom from a larger Home (Pavilion House, Bulli). It was designed for an occasional use and hence the unusual open ensuite. Regardless, good ventilation can be achieved in similar designs by proper use of natural cross ventilation, or like other people had mentioned by fans and proper exhaust. Hope this helps, Alex.
