Thank you! In this case it was a product made by Kirsch specifically for canopies. I don't know if they still sell it. It worked ok here because the fabric was lightweight but typically a plywood ring (or 'D' shape) is cut to proper size, covered with fabric and secured to the ceiling for heavier canopies. A canopy like this isn't meant to be laundered - it is generally a permanent installation. Just regular vacuuming with a (clean) gentle brush attachment is all that is required.
