Board and batten on wall?

Hi all,

We're going to be taking the awkward coat closet in front of our door (see below) and opening it up into a bench and hooks (see inspiration pic below). However instead of Shiplap we will do board and batten the whole way around that entry vestibule. (Note we are refinishing our roundtop front door. Hence the plywood!)

My question: Should we continue the board and batten to the wall next to the front door? I'm planning on doing board and batten three quarters of the way up the entire entry vestibule (all walls in that nook). Now I'm thinking this wall outside the vestibule (with key and Mail thing) might look good with it as well. Note: it's no where else in the house.

I would probably do the board and batten in just the entry vestibule unless you wanted to do it around the entire room (living room?) outside of it. Doing it on just one wall in the larger room would feel unfinished whereas doing it in just the entry vestibule will feel like you're defining it as it's own space.

I would have to agree with batson_cassie just do it in the vestibule room.
