Agree with Brandi i'm afraid, the biggest no no is to block a doorway with a sofa, defeats the purpose of opening out onto the garden as you can't get past the sofa. Plus it's up against the radiator blocking the heat. It will have to go!

Thanks for the comments, I know it is quite big we made a mass fail on purchasing online, we bought before we measured then realised the size but actually even though I do agree with you for the look of it, for practicality it's great, there's 5 of us in the house with 1 of which being a teenager who forever has her friends around so it is a good place for them all to chill in, as until the extension is complete she shares a room with her sister, or us to escape the noise but yes it will being changed for a smaller version! What sort of blinds would work against the doors do you think? Thanks again

Blinds are going to be tricky too, They can't fit under the recess above the doors as there's not enough room to pull them up so that you can open the doors. The only option for blinds is to have romans probably, make sure they're big and deep, mount them above the doors so that you can pull them right up and over to open the doors. You might be better off with nice plush curtains and pull them to the sides, making more of a full feature in the middle where you'll have two together where the doors meet.

Oh ok thank you I'll have a look, the bi-fold of the door open outwards not in so that should be easier to have blinds that go to the top but I'll certainly take your comments on board when I go shopping, thanks again

I agree I think Romans are going to be the best option for blinds here.

Good news about the doors opening outwards! I'm guessing the doors are around 2m standard and a further 7-8mm for the frame / recess. Just remember that if those are the heights and you put them inside the recess, you'll be ducking under them to get out!

I think PerfectFit blinds could be a really great option for you here - they simply clip into the uPVC frames of doors or windows, making for a neat and tidy effect. They won't flap about and they remove the need to mount them to a lintel or wall. And you can choose from Venetians, Pleated or Roller options.
