How wide is the barn door?

I am looking to have a 55" wide barn door made but hesitate that it might be too cumbersome for a semi-high-traffic closet. Is this door that wide? And, is it heavy to slide?

This is a 60" (5-foot) door. I would only recommend it in rooms that you like to have open most of the time.

I saw a double sliding barn door that meets in the middle would that would for you?

No, it wouldn't work, because one side isn't long enough for the rail.
