Feature wall - with a window in it?
I've placed the bed on opposite wall which has a little window in it. My idea is to wallpaper the three walls in eau de nil/silver wallpaper and have a Roman blind made of the same fabric which would be hung from outside the reveal.
Would it look strange? Of course any patter repeat would have to be matched.
Which brand would have wallpaper and fabric to match?
We live in the UK.

You could have a simple blackout blind for the window a sheer string curtain and some dress only curtains. They don't need to be functional they can just sit behind the bedsides.
I have an example in my idea books of this see what you think.

Год(а)/Лет назад: 8Hi there,
What a beautiful room! I'd suggest you take a look at our website for a great range of classic and contemporary designs. The great thing about our blinds is that they offer a hook off, hook on feature so that you can swap the fabric of your blind as often as you like without having to replace the complete system.
You could opt for a safe colour to start and then maybe swap to a more daring one when you fancy a new look for your room.
Best of luck with your project,
Kiera

Год(а)/Лет назад: 8Wallpaper may close the room in a bit? However Laura Ashley generally do fabrics (beautiful ones) that either co-ordinate or match their papers. Expensive though. I think I prefer the bed on the side wall..... means you're not covering up heat from the rad then too. How about just 1 single dress curtain tied off to the side with a nice puddle of fabric on the floor...

АвторГод(а)/Лет назад: 8I'm having the rad moved to the left wall.
When the bed was on the side wall, there was hardly any room at the foot of it, due to the rise of the staircase.
With the bed as it is placed now, I feel the room is more balanced.

Год(а)/Лет назад: 8Lovely room. Not sure about the wall paper but the window strikes me as being very very small so I don't think I'd put a roman blind there as it would block even more light. A roller blind would allow more light in but be less attractive. If you could perhaps find a light to mid colour pattern and paint the surrounding wall rather than paper it or vice versa?

That said, the room is quite dark. Hence my idea of a silver/reflective wallpaper. ?

Год(а)/Лет назад: 8Последние изменения: Год(а)/Лет назад: 8My advice would be to go for the wallpaper. I have a bedroom in my house about the same size and I too need to place the bed beneath the window. I wanted to keep the room light thinking it would create a sense of more space but sometimes not trying to hide the obvious but play it up can be more advantageous. Look at these Houzz examples. When I move onto doing my room I will be embracing colour in order to make it feel luxurious, warm, cosy and a little love den.

This is a great dilemma and you could do plenty with it, I'm thinking shutters maybe! Год(а)/Лет назад: 8I think the room looks fine but instead of wallpaper I'd just warm it up with a rich cream. It's something I've learned from bitter experience that once you wallpaper a perfectly smooth wall, you are forever bound to keep doing it, as it ruins them. It also can really close a room in.janicka1 поблагодарил(а): Userjanicka1

mirror & light shutters
Год(а)/Лет назад: 8Hello Janicka,
as Tom mentioned above have you thought about shutters? We have just launched a range of mirror shutters which would look fabulous in this room. This image is about the same proportion as your window too. The added benefit is the additional reflected light back into the room!

Год(а)/Лет назад: 8Janika I think your heart is set on wallpapering this room so I would just follow your heart in this instance. Personally the room would not feel finished to me with either plain painted or wallpapered wall. And the reason for this is that beds very rarely should go on walls with windows. When there's no way round it to my mind I would try very hard to make the window dissapear into the background hence my suggestion, but this is personal and design rules are always meant to be broken.
I would wallpaper three walls and add soft furnishings on the wall behind the bed. Hope you ll manage to get somewhere with it.

Год(а)/Лет назад: 8I think that people mostly wallpaper all their walls, or, just one feature wall (usually the one you face when sitting)
I was looking at the thread of emails and Moniker sent 2 pictures right at the beginning that I think look fab. A few subtle changes in your room that would make a big difference are getting bigger bedside lamps and getting a large statement piece of art or perhaps even a large mirror instead (which would make the space look lighter and brighter too) I'm not sure what your budget is but changing the carpet to a neutral cream or taupe would also help tie the room together. I'd personally dress the window with a simple Roman blind or roller blind a bit bigger than the window as having curtains behind the bed may be a tad difficult to manage? However, if you are in love with the idea of wallpaper, you could always paper three walls first, and based on how you think it looks, either leave it at that or continue with the forth wall.Monica
Год(а)/Лет назад: 8Sorry I hope I didn't confuse you, the curtains I have suggested would be dress curtains not to be drawn just there to soften everything and balance the window wall. A functioning blind will still be needed as well as some soft voile or a string curtain, there are some gorgeous ones about now chunky and not the cheap Chinese ones widely available on fleabay :)
