At least buy them one of the books by the Dutch nurserymen who introduced us to the many grasses to be used: James van Sweden and Wolgang Oehme, Piet Oudolf, endorced by Noel Kingsbury in his Designing with Plants, Henk Gerritsen, Nancy Ondra, or Sally Wasowski's Native Gardens for Dry Climates.
