Spanish Lavender

I live in inland California and would like to use Spanish Lavender as a edging plant. If it is planted in well drained soil, full sun, and pruned twice a year, how long I can expect it to last (a conservative estimate). I have heard they get very woody in 3 years or so, start losing their shape and vigor and need to be replaced in 3-4 years? Thank you

Yes, we replace them 3-5 years, selective pruning in late October, the key is not to plant too close to hardscape edges- most gardeners will hack them back- unlike our gardener above.

Thanks for your comment & question!
