No, not so much a loft. In the new addition I offset the levels to the mid height between the existing. This resulted in the Master having its own level w/ walk out deck and above the master is an office space that has a deck as well. This also helped the views from the great room and kitchen as it provided a view down through the stair opening to the creek and mountains beyond. Where you see the opening to the right in the photo goes out to great room/rec room, and there is a pocketing barn door to close off the room, which is not seen.
