What is the rule of thumb for choosing a mirror above your vanity? Vanity is 42" and I have 39" of space from the granite back splash to the light fixture. Not sure how much space to leave around or if there are any "rules".
Well there are no "rules" when it comes to things like this, but there are a couple guidelines to keep in mind. Think about the height of the users who will be looking into the mirror. I like to keep in mind the "golden rectangle" when thinking about proportions in a room. Using that as a guide can help keep your design to a scale that makes the user feel comfortable.
