The island top in our picture is made of Blue Louise Quartzite- Ocean Green. Pure quartzite is usually white to grey but the various shades of pink and red you see in the picture often occur due to varying amounts of iron oxide that interact with it during the rock's formation. Other colors, such as yellow, green, blue and orange, are due to other mineral impurities.
