Hi Howard, western red cedar. This photo was taken immediately after completion. The project now has developed horizontal banding as some of the boards have been treated with a clear varnish and others have been left to weather to grey. It about 1 year old and I plan to take another photo soon to show the difference and will post it on Houzz.
