Floisand Studio

Our remodeled house looks absolutely gorgeous, is extremely well designed and the entire project, from the initial idea to the final touch of paint has been a really positive process. We cannot thank enough Floisand Studio for this. Now, that our project is complete, it is our belief that selecting Floisand Studio has provided us, not only with a beautiful design, but also with the framework to a very successful experience. Working very closely with Allison, at Floisand Studio, we felt from the very beginning that Allison really listened and understood our needs, and worked really hard to translate them into a design that incorporated them perfectly. Allison brought years of experience to provide many thoughtful alternatives and novel idea, to accommodate our constrained budget and included in her design all the details needed to have a smooth transition with the builder. Allison also recommended several builders. We selected one, who partnered with Allison to execute flawlessly her vision, thanks to a very detailed construction set that Allison and her team iterated over, until perfection. It is well known that remodeling or building a new house can be a stressful experience. However, my wife and I, would not really know any of this, since our experience has been so positive from beginning to end. Allison, worked hard, through many deadlines to keep us on time and on budget. We believe dearly that she has been the key to our beautiful home, and what it took to build it. We recently collaborated with Floisand Studio on a new home on Mercer Island. Allison's level of detail and thoroughness on a large project like this proved to be invaluable, and she was always on-call for any question we may have had, or problem we needed to work through. Most of all, though, it was a beautiful design that has made the homeowners exceedingly happy to be living in such an incredible space, and it has been a great source of pride for our firm, as it's one of the nicest projects we've ever built.

First off, the design of our house is beautiful - modern classic, destined to be a landmark for the next 100 years. Allison had exquisite attention to detail, putting in tireless hours to minimize surprises along the way. Floisand studio worked seamlessly with our builder to create a high-quality finished product beyond compare.

I highly recommend Floisand Studio. Richard Floisand and Allison Hogue did a fabulous job on the remodel of our home in Columbia City. Their vision, expertise and listening skills resulted in an enlargement of our home that is both beautiful and useful. They were sensitive to a strict budget and used a mix of higher-end and lower-end materials that worked very well. They integrated several artistic touches that my husband and I could never have done on our own. I recommend them without reservation. They are lovely people and truly a joy to work with. Richard's design for our kitchen remodel exceeded our expectations on all levels. He helped us see all that was possible by giving us new and fresh ideas. Eleven years later it has stood the test of time. We still love it and wouldn't change anything. He introduced us to a more modern style and had wonderful resources to draw upon. Floisand Studio is highly recommended!!

Floisand Studio does world class designs on very modest budgets. Richard and Allison are both veterans who have worked in the trade for many years. In addition, Richard brings a craft background to their designs. As a general contractor it is great to have designs created by a team that knows how things are built, that understands construction workflow, and has done extensive testing in using hardwoods, decorative softwoods, industrial steel, finished concrete and other innovative materials to create outstanding residential and commercial projects. When we complete work on a Floisand project, we get tons of compliments on our craftsmanship. The secret, however, is in the Floisand design which presents clean, classy, energizing spaces that are also warm and comfy to the clients who use them.

Richard Floisand was the principal on our project. We did a remodel and addition to a SF brick ranch in NE Seattle. Floisand Studio was sensitive to our budget while coming up with unique design solutions that reflected our personalities and our special requests (re-use of certain materials). Floisand Studio connected us to a great contractor and some very skilled subs, went the extra mile when we were out of town during construction, and generally made the process very smooth and satisfying. They submitted our project for a local design award, which we are happy to say it won, and they handled the public open house process with great sensitivity and ease. We have done a second remodel since in a different state, and we really missed working with them!

We bought a block of hours at an auction for from Florisand so we could get a kick-start on a basement remodel of our 1925 craftsman and were very satisfied from our first interaction with Allison through the end of construction. Allison was an excellent listener, very thorough in all aspects of the process, on budget, well organized & on time! On top of that she's really cool! Our contractor commented that the drawings were the most complete he's ever seen!

Floisand Studio worked with us to design plans to change the interior of our 1890s Victorian. It is so challenging to work with an old house and make changes that will modernize, yet not destroy the integrity of the existing style and that is just what they managed to do. They were very conscientious and thorough, easy to work with and super creative. Would highly recommend them for any project, new or old.

We couldn't be happier with the results of our home remodel designed by Alison Hogue at Floisand Studio. Our project included lifting our house 2 feet, finishing our basement, adding a garage, and opening up our kitchen. It was a huge (and stressful!) project to take on and Allison was instrumental in making it a positive experience. Being an older craftsman home we wanted it feel like it all flowed, while making the best use of space. We had many spaces that were chopped up and not functional before the remodel and with Alison's design expertise and talent for space planning, every square inch our house now flows and functions well for our family of five. Allison is professional, budget conscious, has an amazing sense of style, detail oriented while seeing the big picture, and excellent at guiding us through the design process. We would recommend her (or hire again!) in a heartbeat.

Floisand Studio is currently helping us design a new SF residence on a 1.25 acre property. They have been outstanding in helping us wade through all the permits necessary (it's been difficult). We chose this architect because of their modern design aesthetic and for their willingness to work with our previous construction and design experience. Can't wait to see the the final product!!
