“2nd time around with Sosna and their team. Current project was 3 bathroom renovations but because of time restrictions we decided on completing main bathroom now and deferring 2 remaining bathrooms until a latter date. Project was for complete renovation including new fixtures and painting. Project started and finished when indicated. Workmanship, again, was perfect. “We retained John to construct a main floor family room addition and do a complete kitchen renovation in January 2007. We also used him in 2009 to renovate our master and second floor bathrooms. The bathrooms were gutted and compeletly renovated entirely by John. With the main floor addition, John organized the necessary subtrades for framing, siding, etc. For all projects, he did all of the interior finishing and his work was meticulous and detailed. He was wonderful in assisting with picking finishes and provided helpful guidance throughout the construction process. He finished all projects on time and on budget as quoted. HIs work has stood the test of time and the vigors of daily living and looks as good now as it did when the projects were newly completed. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with his work and highly recommend him.”

“We had an excellent experience working with Carter Fox on the renovation of our home. Our vision was to re-convert a much-neglected, animal-infested, three-unit house, into a 5- bedroom home for our family of six. And we wanted to do this in about 3 months on a moderate budget. It was a tall order. James' involvement began at the outset of the project. He visited the property with us prior to purchase to have a look at the bones of the house and provide an initial estimate as to time and cost. From there, my husband and I worked closely with his team to complete the project on time, and on budget a short 14 weeks later. The end result was a beautiful home perfectly suited to our needs. Our immense satisfaction with Carter Fox relates to three key elements - collaboration, communication, and end product. First, collaboration. We had a strong vision for our home, and wanted to be significantly involved in the project. We worked closely with James and his team throughout the renovation to ensure that we were able to realize our vision, while staying on budget. James was committed to honouring our budget and would often find and implement creative and pragmatic solutions to ensure that our priorities were realized within budget. James also patiently tolerated changes to the design and scope of the project and bent over backwards to accommodate these changes. I always felt James and his team were committed to making sure we got what we wanted. We maintained a friendly, productive, and mutually respectful working relationship throughout the renovation. In fact, I can say we actually enjoyed renovating because of the positive relationship we had with James and his team. Second - communication. James kept us regularly apprised of the status of the work and budget, potential delays, and the cost and delay implications of decisions we were making. We stopped by the work site regularly and maintained very regular contact by email, phone, and text. James and his team could always be reached, were responsive to our inquiries and ensured that we were kept apprised of the work schedule and when decisions would need to be made. Finally, the end product. We are thrilled with our new home. We've had many, many compliments on the work and workmanship and are, of course, very pleased ourselves. Thank you Carter Fox!”

“NEC PLUS ULTRA ! The house I bought needed extensive renovations, however the schedule was very tight. I interviewed eight general contractors, each one highly recommended through various sources and references. I decided on Mike Lawrance and his M-Squared Contracting team. Mike came across as a real professional. He listened to my ideas and requirements, gave advice as to which ones of my ideas were feasible and which ones needed to be revised, in short he neither tried to bring in someone else as a “designer”, nor did he just look around and say “leave it with me, you’ll be happy”. If needed, his team was also prepared to work on Saturdays – which most of the other interviewed contractors were not. Renovation results: Within the time frame of only three weeks Mike was given, he and his team did: -A full renovation of the kitchen and of the bathroom, -An extensive upgrading of living room and dining room, -A change of all windows and exterior doors, -The creation of a library and of a bathroom in the basement, -Repainting of the entire interior. One day BEFORE the deadline, Mike and his team were finished, and the house handed over to me, cleaned-up spic and span. The quality of the work was absolutely tops, first class, beyond my expectations. Billing: Except where absolutely unavoidable, the billings did not exceed the quoted prices. Each invoice was not only scrupulously itemized, but photocopies of Mike’s material purchases were attached to his bills. The whole process was completely transparent and verifiable. Attitude/ work relationship: The team members are competent and friendly, the communication between client and contractor – which I consider an important factor – was absolutely excellent. My conclusion: With M-Squared Contracting, one is dealing with friendly yet true no-nonsense professionals of the highest caliber, constantly striving for excellence.”
