“We built our modern house two years ago here in Los Angeles, California and have been populating it with new pieces since we moved in. Many pieces we knew we wanted and how we would use long before construction was completed, but there was one piece (a 'coffee table') we just couldn't quite put our finger on for our media room. We had found a wonderful sectional by Canadian company Gus*, a great side chair, credenza, and small enamel-top side table by CB2, but we couldn't find the last piece, that 'just right' coffee table that was simpatico with the entire design zeitgeist of the room. We knew we wanted something akin to a Eames-era kidney-shape table, but none of the ones we found seemed to work -- they crowded the space and made it look like we were trying to hard. Then i stumbled upon Studio 1212 during a late-night Google mining session -- bingo! Derek's boomerang-table. Like Goldilocks' porridge, it was not too tall, not too wide/long... It was juussssttt right. When it arrived a few weeks later (handmade to order) it fit like the last puzzle-piece; like it was made for the space, because it was! Throughout Derek's communication was excellent. He was always responsive to my inquiries, etc. The piece was excellently packed and quickly shipped upon completion. Truly, this a one-of-a-kind piece that will become an heirloom for our daughter. Or I may just have it buried with me! You want a unique, one-of-a-kind piece, handmade to order, by a top-drawer craftsman? Get it from Studio 1212. You will not be disappointed.”

“I contacted Brian a couple years ago to have a dining table made. I really didn't know what I wanted so he provided me with several ideas and helped me narrow down a few ideas. I let him take the reigns on the design and I am so happy with the table I got! It is my favorite piece of furniture I own and will keep it forever. Brian sent me progress pictures of the table as it was being built so I got to see it the process. I couldn't be happier and I would recommend Brian to anyone looking for custom furniture. he is very talented and fun to work with!”

“Heart of Timber created a custom workbench for my garage. This is not your typical workbench as I'm a DJ and my workspace is dedicated to housing both tools for my house as well as tools-of-the trade for my equipment. I needed a workbench that suited specific needs: 1) it was a standing work-space 2) I could buy a chair to make it a seated workspace and that a crossbar would be adjustable in height to accommodate foot placement (avoid feet hanging) and 3) that it looked as beautiful as it was durable. The job was completed above my level of satisfaction. It's clear to anyone who visits, the level of craftsmanship put into the work. The durability is unquestionable. Finally, as you may guess by reading this, my expectations were a bit unique and ambiguous. Heart of Timber makes life-lasting work. I highly recommend them and suggest you reach out today to have them get started on a project for you today, regardless of how unique it may be.”

“We purchased an extended slide-out tv mount for over our bed in the master bedroom. We were searching for something like this for quite some time, as all of the televisions in our home are hidden. Upon coming across their website, I found that they're based in Boise, ID (where we live), so I went to their offices to see the product. It's incredibly well designed. It effortlessly glides into position and back, without any springs, hydraulics, or similar. Our home is still under renovation, but we're looking forward to enjoying this (and will post pictures!) as soon as the renovation is complete.”
