“The project was to supply landscaping for the area around a new pool. Torrey Pines (TPLC) was suggested by the pool contractor after an earlier recommended Landscaper proved too inflexible. TPLC provided a plan and was happy to make adjustment to meet our requirements. They were a joy to work with and worked well with the pool company as well. The results were so pleasing that I hired them to redo most of the rest of my landscaping which they did equally well. They provide a high quality service and charge accordingly, but, I believe, fairly,”

He did a great job listening to our list of requests and his work came in on time and budget. Nathan and his team were also incredibly pleasant and professional to work with. They really thought a lot about our project and continued to refine and improve on the design and final landscaping throughout the process. “Gravel to Gold took on a large hardscaping and landscaping project at our 1940s bungalow in Pacific Beach. The work entailed removal of many truckloads of old grass and debris, and much tedious prep work to lay the foundations of a successful planting plan, including irrigation, LED lighting, and specific "obscuring" objectives. GtoG was the designer and general contractor, with the concrete work sub-ed out to a trusted contractor with many decades of experience. The final product is beyond expectations and was completed in almost exactly the predicted time. GtoG even re-did some of the work that to me was perfect, but that did not meet their very high standards. In the end we paid what we were told the cost would be to within just a few percent (there are always surprises in work like this), but the accuracy with regard to budget and timing is the best I've ever encountered by a wide margin. We would definitely use GtoG again, and in fact we are on our new project, a much bigger remodel of a 1920s Spanish-style house. Highest recommendation.”

Robert Hill has a talent for solving design problems that stump everyone else. The first case, 1987, was a pool in a situation where we had given up until we contacted Robert Hill. His design has been admired by everyone who has seen it and has been a joy to us ever since. He also designed a new driveway and retaining wall for us in a very difficult setting. Again, his design has drawn much praise. His crews are friendly, hard working and competent.”
