“When I first set my eyes on Nate of Nate Swink's Welding and Fabrication, he looked like he was 18 years old (he's probably in his 20's) but his work ethic along with his inherent nature to over-build without emptying one's pocket is rare! My first order was a custom steel aquarium stand for a 300 gallon tank weighing a little over 2500 pounds (1.25 tons). Normally, a stand would require less work and steel but I wanted to be able to slide a 6 foot sump filter in or out without having to empty the aquarium above and to easily access the sump without banging my head. This meant the front of the stand would not have the usual steel supports in front. Nate didn't flinch when I told him what I wanted and he incorporated extra steel to make up for the support. The icing on the cake was the beautiful powder coating. As I was looking at the stand, Nate started pointing out areas of the powder coating that he felt was not perfect. I, myself was extremely happy with the finish. Needless to say, he's picky when it comes to his work. My second order was a rolling trellis. I showed him a picture on the internet of a narrow wooden box with wheels and rebar to allow vines to grow. I would have been happy if he simply substituted steel for the wooden box. Instead, he went about making something much more robust with nice looking steel rods replacing the rebar. The dirt box alone took 12 bags of potting soil - almost 13 cu. feet! I must confess... when I find someone like Nate, I always worry that they'll get so busy that they'll be out of reach - money or time wise. So I guess my best bet is to let others know about him and perhaps he'll remember my review and will take pity on me when I request another custom build. ck”

“I discovered their location in San Diego, CA as I needed a specialty post to accommodate the design of my fence, galvanized square posts. Each time I went there to get materials or information, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. And they cut the materials there too which was important for my project. I tend to get side tracked with all the other cool stuff they have. I also noticed they offer Saturday "how to" sessions. One I wanted to go to was on patina processing for metal. Great resource for all things metal.”

“His company installed a wood rolling gate to close off our driveway as well as a front wood side gate when we did a complete remodel of our exterior. He executed the work well and came back whenever there were small problems with the gate mechanisms and resolved quickly. I would recommend him for friends work.”

“If you were looking for the run of the mill 5 star yelp review... this is not going to be it. To say we were blown away is an understatement. This company took the time to truly listen to what we needed and then delivered a design that not only exceeded our expectations but brought a level of detail to the pieces they delivered that can’t be found in the store. Each of the pieces we asked for her truly hand made and artfully crafted. The attention to detail with both the hardware and the care in packaging and delivery was exceptional. AND their customer service? Above and beyond. If you are looking for a company that can deliver on your metal project with an eye towards art and a passion towards making you happy, look no further. Seriously. Stop shopping. Lock these guys in. We cannot wait for our next project with them.”

“Excellent to work with, with very fine craftsmanship. I did some custom outdoor tables some with hardwood tops, and others with glass mosaic. I design and build furniture, but my expertise is fine woodworking, so I was happy to find a new metal worker. From looking around his shop, I think Tony can handle almost anything from one of a kind motorized gates, to hand forged iron work. He gave me several options with regard to materials and finishes, which allowed me to build the project on budget.”
