“Colao Stone & Design designed and installed two stone patios (one with a two foot semi-circle stone wall) and a full deck, complete landscaping and outdoor LED lighting. Colao acted as general contractor for the deck project and lighting, but performed all services relating to patios and landscaping. The stone wall contains a section that is capable of being expanded to include a fireplace in the future.It could not have gone smoother. Colao's principal designer, JR, designed the entire project, taking into account all of our needs and he helped us to envision the entire project using the latest technology and printouts. The quality of the stone and the construction of the patios and the wall was first rate. And they used a terrific subcontractor who constructed our deck using wood and composite decking materials that will likely outlast the house itself. It's a solid construction all around (you have only to walk on it to feel how solid it is). The lighting was designed for flexibility, so that we could add on over time; we've taken advantage of that and have installed additional LED lighting since the project was completed in 2010. The landscaping was done in a very professional manner and we've lost very few plantings since installation. Everything has grown in quite nicely and the whole side patio is just a very pleasant place to spend time. Joe Colao and JR were the nicest folks to deal with; they were always responsive to questions, they always answered their phones when we called them, and they solved any problems when they arose. All in all, it was the best experience that we have ever had with a contractor...and we've had quite a few experiences over the sixteen years that we've lived in this home. I would recommend Joe and JR to anyone who is looking for quality construction and outstanding service.”

“This was the biggest house project I have had since I bought my house and so I spent a good deal of time researching and meeting with companies before I made my decision to go with Subcomm Pools. They gave me a detailed estimate and I understood what needed to be done and the total I would have to pay. I have an old pool that was built in the 1970s which needed a major overhaul. After reviewing and approving the contract Subcomm Pools were in the next day. They pretty much stripped it down to the foundation. They redid everything from the plaster, to the coping, to the tile, to the filter, to the concrete deck around the pool. They were patient with me when I changed my mind multiple times about the tile I wanted. The guys that did the work from start to finish were communicative, efficient, clean, timely and extremely professional. The time-frame for this project was not only met, but ahead of schedule. This was a very nice experience, I have dealt with shady contractors before, but these guys are the complete opposite, they stand by there work and product. “I found Jim on Houzz just after he joined the website this past spring. I'm glad I did. I had a twenty plus year old pool that needed attention. After meeting with him, we decided to completed renovate everything. He replaced the apron, tile, and coping. The pool was entirely re-surfaced with Pebbletec. He moved some electrical switches, installed a new pool light, new drains, new skimmers and re-installed ladders and railing. The pool looks beautiful! JW Contracting kept me up to date on when to expect them to start the job, the progress of the project and my satisfaction as the work went on. They have a VERY professional in-house staff, not subcontractors. They were all very hard working, polite and cleaned up every day when their workday was over. The quality of the work is beyond all expectations. It's obvious that in a very competitive industry where all kinds of companies come and go, JW Contracting is in this for the long term. “A premium product with a premium company behind it at a reasonable price! We ordered our pool coping from Federal Stone after another brand did not survive the first winter of our new pool. Because the work by our local pool company was done in two stages because winter had set in, the finishes did not match and there were some water infiltration problems that caused some discoloration. Federal Stone was extremely helpful in getting this corrected and their Owner and his wife traveled to Connecticut from their plant in Maryland to inspect and refinish the coping themselves! We were absolutely amazed at what they achieved and we now have the most beautiful pool around! Kudos to Federal Stone for a great product and superior customer service!! They are the best!!”
