We had a great experience with Vigilant and their product design and service teams. From start to finish they were easy to work with, their racks are high quality and look great and their customer service was super helpful. As a DIY project, we had questions before, during and after we selected, received and began to build our racks and cabinets and the Vigilant service team treated us with professional support throughout. The racks and cabinets are made from high quality materials and the pre-cuts and pre-drills were all spot-on. We did receive one damaged rack ladder in our initial shipment and Vigilant had a replacement to us within a couple days. Lastly, while we purchased our cooling system direct from the manufacturer, Vigilant was very helpful with sizing and proper design placement; their on-line design tools was also very helpful and easy to use in designing our new wine cellar. I highly recommend Vigilant for wine racks, cabinets and other related materials.

I ordered an in wall cigar humidor quite a while ago. It was a time sensitive gift and still to this day I have not even received a shipping tracking number. It has been hard to communicate with this company. I have asked questions and the last thing I heard was “I wanted to let you know that I am working with the head of production on this. I don’t have an answer yet, but I expect to have something shortly.” That was a month ago. I was interest in having a custom walk in humidor built but this is out of the door. This entire experience has been less than sub par. And yet I am still out of a few thousand dollars and still have no product

Ordered a custom rack and wine cellar door as well as a cooling unit. Very difficult to communicate with this company. They will give you ship dates that are unrealistic and then when you try to inquire over the phone they won't call you back. They seem to enjoy email better. Even when I tried to get an answer about my door I basically got a "we are very sorry we are still working on it" answer. It's a bummer because you give your contractor their lead times and ship dates and they don't deliver. This company will hold up your project. I like the product although its a bit pricey for what it is so do yourself a favor and shop around. I can't speak for the door yet because I have not received mine. I was planning a bigger project with them and this was a "test". They blew it.

My wife & I decided to downsize just over a year ago. As we designed and built our dream home we decided to add to that dream by adding a custom wine cellar. But all we new was the space we had to work with and some general ideas of what we wanted. After searching various options for someone to help us it became clear that Vigilant stood out from all other options. We reached out to them in January 2108 as we were still building and discussed what are desires were, the space we had and our timeline. From that point on they were an absolute joy to work with. The were creative and flexible in the initial design discussions, patient in knowing we had a long timeline (fall of 2018 before we would be ready to actually order), professional and responsive to our questions and last minute changes. When it came time to order I had grand ideas of staining and varnishing myself to save a few $$'s however Lisa encouraged me that was not something I would want to tackle and was able to sharpened her pencil to make it a little more affordable. Best decision ever! We now have our dream home and Dream Wine Cellar done! It is absolutely stunning and is now the center piece of our downstairs rec room. I would recommend Vigilant without hesitation for those desiring to add a wine cellar to their home. Even if its just an idea or vision (large or small) Vigilant will help bring it to life! Ordered a custom in-wall humidor for my in-home cigar room. The fit and finish is "furniture quality". I couldn't be happier. It's absolutely beautiful.

# 1 on my bucket list. Our cellar is complete and is absolutely beautiful! The quality and service Vigilant provided was excellent. This is our second cellar but the first time we used Vigilant. Aside from the WOW factor, the mahogany racks were precise and very well made. Our installer was really impressed with the quality. I couldn’t be more pleased! Thank you Team Vigilant.

My experience with Vigilant was fantastic. We had doors and racks made, and the quality of the materials and workmanship was superb. Everything was exactly as specified. The end result for our DIY basement wine cellar project exceeded our expectations. Great to see an American company with such quality.

A few trips to Napa and a few wine clubs later and we quickly outgrew our wine fridge. We decided to modify an unused corner of our finished basement and build a custom wine cellar. Vigilant was extremely helpful in working up a few design options for our limited space. It was a fun DIY project that is now a beautiful focal point in our basement. Vigilant's racking, trim, and custom doors are extremely high quality. I highly recommend the company for their outstanding service and product quality.

Vigilant nicely accommodated our very specific and detailed wine cellar design. The end result installed well and looked terrific. Our client was quite pleased with the outcome.

The true test of a professional is what happens when things go wrong. In this respect, Vigilant failed. I hired Vigilant to design and construct a small custom wine cellar. The design was completed and after patiently waiting out the 6 week lead time, my shipment arrived damaged and missing parts. I can only assume that Vigilant forgot to manufacture these parts; I asked what happened, but received no explanation. They did, however, promise to make the parts and ship them as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, they shipped the missing parts freight and they also arrived damaged. While they tried to place the blame no the carrier, it was easy to see that the packing was insufficient. For this I received nothing more than an apology. Given the time wasted waiting for missing parts to be made and the extra expense of having my installer fix the damaged parts, I cannot recommend Vigilant. *** UPDATE *** The owner of Vigilant called me to discuss my issues and we spoke at length. While my review no doubt prompted this, I nonetheless appreciate the efforts put forth by Vigilant to take my feedback constructively. As such, I've changed my review from 1 stars to 3 stars and would give Vigilant another shot in the future should the need arise.

As part of the development of our wine cellar, I spoke with Lisa Pinault last May to see if Vigilant could help me to obtain wine racks since I had been having difficulty acquiring the type of design and materials from other sources. After a fairly short conversation she submitted my ideas to her design people and sent me a draft of plans to meet my request. The five poplar racks which resulted became a focal point of a wine room that has received rave review from our friends, wine and non-wine drinkers alike, over the past year. If you are looking for a company that provides excellent customer service and a good value in their product, you will do well to talk with Vigilant.

Our wine room turned out spectacular. We simply gave them width and height of our 2 walls and they did the rest. They even matched the stain to our wood floor. We installed full glass on the other 2 walls to make it the most gorgeous room in the house.
