Caitlin and Kim are the ultimate dream team! We have used them for shades in both our kitchen and bedroom, and both times they went above and beyond to create the perfect drapes for our home. Urban Environments has been such a pleasure working with on a client project on the north side of Chicago. Kim and the team bring professionalism and kindness into each aspect of the project from providing design ideas and coordination of install day. My client's words to describe the finished product were "breathtaking" from the family room roman shades and tall sliding door draperies. The master bedroom also had flat romans and one set of drapery that is truly stunning. LID Chicago will continue to work with the UE team and is looking forward to future projects with them. They were fantastic. We had a particularly tricky job, fitting drapery into pockets that were quite tight, and not all even throughout the same room. They came up with creative solutions and then installed everything quickly and flawlessly. I liked how they were very keen to incorporate my wishes and make me happy, but also had useful professional opinions to share in order to create the best final result. I would HIGHLY recommend them. Great communicators and also just lovely people!

Kim and her team do an A + job. Kim listens offers opinions in terms of choices that help a client achieve their vision. She met with me after work--none of this 9 to 5 pm business, which I appreciate. Her installer worked with us to accommodate our schedule. And, the work was delivered and installed before the holidays as promised! And, most importantly, we are very happy with the beautiful results! Kim has done smaller projects for me and her pricing is fair and reasonable.

Excellent service and design ideas! I needed help with covering 2 side by side sliding doors with a transom over each door. From the moment I walked in the door at Urban Environments I felt surrounded by positive energy, no pressure, confident that I was understood and would be guided in my decision as much as I wanted from Kim and Caitlin. I could not have asked for a better experience with choosing my window coverings. And then it got even better -- their installer, Tom Ewald, was fabulous with the installation. I love my beautiful Roman Shades! Lots of compliments from everyone walking into my home!

I was looking for drapes for a large loft bedroom window and didn't really know what I wanted. Kim was extremely helpful in the process. By asking questions about my needs, I figured out the look and she sent samples of the fabrics to my house so I could seem them in the light that they would be in vs. just the showroom. She helped me work within my budget so I could get the look I wanted. The installation process went smoothly and I couldn't be happier with the end result.

I love working with Kim!! She is my constant go to as a designer for anything window, and, frankly for many other things too. Her knowledge of her field is amazing. She is a great problem solver, but knows the right way to manage a job so problems are non existent. Her subcontractors are very professional. I cannot say enough.

I love Urban Environments. It was recommended to me by several different designers. I finally went in to check it out after being hired by a client that had just bought a 3 story house with many bare windows. She was in need of privacy asap. My design style is very earthy, textural, understated and yet elegant. I explained what I was looking for to the owner, Kim. She pulled out a hand full of books that fit the bill exactly. I LOVED THIS. If you are a Chicago designer that is tired of spending hours in the stale air of the Merchandise Mart looking for the perfect fabric, STOP. Go to Kim. She sorted through it all for you and has the best stuff. Kim worked around mine and the client's schedule and handled all the details from measuring to production to install. We had roller shades, roman shades and gorgeous drapery installed throughout the house. We also chose a wallpaper for the bathroom and she handled the measurement, order, delivery and install. When it comes to window treatments there is a lot that could go wrong. Go with an expert! This was a $30,000 project and transformed the look and feel of the entire house the day it was installed. I had another client with a very low budget. We went with woven wooden roman shades. I had her price everything out and then on behalf of my client had Home Depot come to price out something similar. To my surprise the pricing comparison was within a couple hundred dollars and yet Kim offered a better quality and more customized options. My client was also shocked. It was a no brainer, we passed on Home Depot for Urban Remains. It turned out beautifully and again, transformed the whole house. Her pricing is very competitive and of course she works well with designers. She is one! She makes my life easier and I love that. If you are nervous about "custom" window treatments, don't be, she's got this. Also, her staff is great.
