I own a General Contracting / Remodeling Company. I have worked with many Architects, but never one as multi-talented as Tom Szumlic. He is also qualified in Interior Design and as a General Contractor. He was even taught Higer-Education. He is very wise and creative regarding technical issues but he doesn't lose sight of what is practical and what's in the client's best long term interest. I highly recommend his services.

Our 1927 bungalow needed extensive renovation and additions. Tom spent a great deal of preliminary time with us, understanding our specific needs and vision. He worked with us thoughtfully and carefully. Our collaborative effort resulted in a home that was uniquely ours. Tom's creative imagination and attention to details were hallmarks of his work and I am sure he has continued in his practice of creating plans that a perfect fit for his clients.

Tom Szumlic designed a wonderful house that has served us very well for the past twenty-two years. He was a great listener during the planning stages, was patient with a perfectionistic client, and came up with a functional, beautiful house for our family. We get lots of compliments and notes through our mail slot from people wanting to buy if it should ever be available, which is always nice! Frequently I think about humorous things Tom said during the planning and building, and I remember what a special experience it was. Actually, the rubber met the road recently when I had to replace a column in the breezeway that had sunk, and the contractor wondered if the foundation had failed. We pulled out the plans and saw that Tom, in his wisdom, had reinforced that area with extra concrete, so we knew we were probably only dealing with some 22-year-old rotten wood. It was an easy fix, and I was reminded once again how blessed we were to have been able to work with Tom.
