Gerard and his team are nothing short of incredible. Sound Harbor completed a full renovation of my whole house and it’s like I moved into a brand new home. The craftsmanship of their work is absolutely phenomenal and it is quality material and style that my family will get to enjoy for years to come Their attention to detail really proves how proud they are of their work as they make sure that everything is made to complete specifications.

Sound Harbor completed the project, on time and on budget. Gerard and his team were consummate professionals, always available to problem solve and come up with great creative ideas. They were more than willing to collaborate on creative issues, while maintaining a sound point of view regarding the construction issues involved. Every day of the project, over six months, there was a senior person on site. The quality of the work, inside and out was top notch. Of note, the wood work ( cabinets, moldings, shelves, etc ) was the best I've seen. On top of it all, the Sound Harbor crew is attentive, professional and just plain good people to boot. I would highly recommend them for any job, big or small.

Gerard one of the principles of Sound Harbor Development, LLC from the beginning was totally hands . My wife and I utilized Sound Harbor Development, LLC on two separate occasions. The first project involved the design, demolition and construction of a bathroom as well as several ancillary projects, which included the installation of several new doors, conversion to LED lightning in our residences. Prior to the start of the project, Gerard personally designed the layout for the work to be performed. Adding additional value Gerard took us to several suppliers and assisted in guiding us to the natural stone tiles, plumbing and other fixtures. Though not part of the original plans Sound Harbor was able correct a door that was improperly installed by another contractor. During the course of construction Gerard on a daily bases overseen the work progress. If any work performance did not meet their standards Gerard would immediately ordered the work to be redone. The second time we used Sound Harbor Development, LLC followed the rupture of a water pipe in our basement. Again Gerard immediately came to our rescue installing a mud floor and porcelain tile flooring throughout the basement as well as baseboard molding. I would recommend Sound Harbor Development, LLC without any reservation on my part.

Sound Harbor installed custom built in cabinets for our dining room. The staff did an amazing job and the work fits in seamlessly with our home. The cabinets were custom made on site. Most of the wood work in our home is original from 1927. It is nearly impossible to tell the difference between the original finishes and the work that Sound Harbor did. The built in's look as if they were meant to be there. I could not recommend Sound Harbor more highly! You will not be disappointed.

Gerard came over to visit with my husband and I regarding a family room and kitchen extension. He could not have been more helpful talking us through everything, giving ideas and feedback, and being all around good guy. Spent so much time with us and it was noticed and appreciated. After seeing the beautiful work done at the hands of Gerard LaVelle, of Sound Harbor Development, in other homes, we knew we had to have him as our GC for our next home. What originally started out as a two story addition turned into a much bigger project.. (A new home) and Gerard and his team followed through the whole way. Working closely with the architect and designer, Gerard and his team worked hard for 18 months and built us a truly magnificent custom home. He was attentive to every detail and I can't say enough about his workman. Wonderful team. Snow, rain, heat..They made it happen until the job was completely finished. Our home is both functional and custom tailored to our everyday lifestyle and beautifully done. In fact, it has been featured in HOUSE magazine twice and will go on an official tour for charity next week. I never in a million years thought I'd live in a house like this, and thanks to Gerard and his team, he made that possible. Last, follow through...Most contractors are "done" when you pay your final bill and they move onto the next job (as they should) but it can be difficult to get them to come back for the little things, never mind a bigger issue. Not with Gerard. Even if I had a simple question for him after we moved in about how to operate something he would run over to the house to personally show me. His follow through is like no other. He responds to you right away and that is because he loves what he does and cares about the final product. I truly love my home!

Bought an old home in need of significant renovation/restoration and hired Sound Harbor Development to perform the work, including assistance with design and post-renovation decoration. The work performed on every aspect of the renovation was excellent. Gerard Lavelle, the owner of SHD, was as obsessive about the details of the work as my wife and I were. If you are looking for a thoughtful and detail obsessive contractor, Gerard Lavelle is your man. Rarely does a large renovation project go without some friction between homeowner and contractor, but my experience with Gerard was this rare exception. Although our renovation project wasn't inexpensive, I consider the final cost a value based on the quality of the end product.

Gerard from Sound Harbor was a pleasure to work with. From the planning stages through completion he handled our huge renovation project with the highest level of professionalism and efficiency. Sound Harbor's work is of the very highest quality and we could not believe how thorough and efficient his team was from beginning to end. I recently had the opportunity to work with Sound Harbor Development on 2 projects. We worked very closely on many different aspects on the project and I have to say that I was incredibly impressed with both the quality of their craftsmanship and their professionalism through out both projects. I really can't say enough good things about Sound Harbor Development . They had built my house and the last thing to do was the basement which has just been finished . The millwork is so beautiful and the custom media room , laundry room , office, bathroom and rec room plus lots of great storage space which maximises every inch of space with great innovative idea's and this is just the basement which is just a continuation of the amazing design and millwork throughout the house . The contractor is a well renowned builder but such a personable person who's vision far exceeded my wildest expectations .I would highly recommend this to anyone ! if your lucky enough to get them .
