My husband and I have been working with entire Solstice team, led by Jonathan, on designing a home on Longboat Key. The process has been iterative and highly collaborative as we worked to design our dream home. The team at Solstice has been thoughtful, detail oriented and creative in finding solutions along the way. We were extremely pleased with the whole process of working with Solstice Architecture. They were very responsive, gave us many viable design options, listened carefully and responded to our input and worked well as a team and with us. Our project involved combining two condos into one while dealing with existing structural and mechanical limitations. Jonathan is dedicated to pursuing environmentally sound practices and was responsive to our concerns in regard to the health effects of the various building materials. Despite the seriousness of the undertaking, they made it a very fun experience.

Jonathan helped to reconfigure our 1973 Sarasota School of Architecture home designed by the late Jack West. He was a joy to work with.... creative, flexible, yet staying within our proposed budget. He added a second floor guest area that blended perfectly with the original architecture. As a student of design , I was constantly surprised by the wealth of ideas he had and how easily they were all incorporated within our our home. Now. ten years later, it still looks refreshingly new and exciting. Thank you Jonathan for all-you do!

Our Jonathan Parks-designed “Lightbox House” is perfect for our mix of entertaining, work at home, private time and love of all things garden-related. Viewing the water features and recessed planters from inside gives the impression of being at ground level—not six feet up, as building code requires. It’s a practical illusion, and it works perfectly. The ability to walk out onto the lanai with its orchids and lush palms is a relaxing experience that brings us joy every day.
