Restoration Timber provided pre-finished oak flooring for our home. Within 3 years the finish began to fail, with splotches appearing in many areas. Mike Wilson, owner of Restoration, refused to assume any responsibility for the finish failing, saying it had to be due to something we did. We do not walk on our floor in shoes, traffic is very light, and we only have used mild floor care products. So we believe the problem was in how the original finish was applied by the factory. Mike suggested we have a floor professional try to remove the finish. The floor professional he recommended found that this did not work. So we are left having to sand the floor down and completely refinish, a solution that will require a complete move-out and cost at least $10,000.
