The Owl & Oak Carpentry Company

They do not pay their subcontractors. We were hired to do the job by the contractor, Owl and Oak. The owner asked for an extension on payment even though he was already paid by the homeowner and has subsequently not followed through on payment. We gave them lots of time, since 2017. Do not risk hiring them and then being on the line when subcontractors aren't paid.

I had the pleasure of having Julian and Jason remove and install a storm door, screen door and complete the job with trim and brick moulding. I was very impressed with their workmanship and professionalism.

Julian is an absolute pro and we are extremely happy with the work he did for us on our recent basement renovation. The quality of the work is amazing. Julian did everything from framing, finishing mill work, custom shelving in the new laundry room and various other closets throughout the house (we chose to add to the scope once we show the quality of his work). Julian is also a very considerate contractor (work area always clean at the end of the day), we always knew when we was coming and to top it all off, Julian's also a very nice guy (as well as his helper). Would hire him again for our next renovation without hesitation.

We hired Julian to install our baseboards as we found his quote to be the best and were very satisfied with the end result. Both Jason and Julian were very professional, tidy skilled workers who finished our job in a timely manner. Julian even went out and purchased extra supplies we miscalculated when purchasing supplies for the job. Would recommend and will hire again if needed in the future.

We worked with Julian and his crew on a bathroom renovation. We could not possibly be more pleased with the quality craftsmanship and efficiency on the demolition and reframing. We are absolutely looking forward to working with him on future projects.

I had the pleasure of working alongside Julian on multiple jobs throughout Southern Alberta over the course of ~18 months. I felt compelled to write a review, because he is one of the very few carpenters I've seen who never cuts corners, when the opposite is all-too-common! His company is proficient from foundations to finish -- fast and efficient, a focus on new materials and building science, and quality always the priority. On a personal note, he was exceedingly professional and friendly, and also treated his crew very well. I would recommend Owl & Oak without hesitation to anyone in need of quality custom carpentry services, whether a renovation or new construction. Top notch for sure!

Julian was an outstanding tradesman to work along side with. He took care of the clients home as if it was his own, truly inspirational to see another company who cares as much as we do! His craftsmanship is second to none & his ability to problem solve situations quikly. For being in the business for over 15 years, I can respect good work when we see it. Owl & Oak is our go to carpentry company in Edmonton. We have worked on projects with Julian and hopefully he will be working on our own project very soon. His work is professional, detail oriented and the quality is unmatched. He is a great person/company to work with and we highly recommend him for any and all carpentry work that you need.

Julian and his team have been working with us for 7+ months on an extensive (top to bottom) renovation of our home. Their professionalism, quality craftsmanship, and attention to detail was very reassuring...we knew we had the right people taking care of our home.
