Mary Deacy looked at my tiny bungalow, and pretty quickly came up with some extremely creative ideas on how we might make more living space and carve out some closets without overwhelming the bungalow-ness of the house. She listened carefully, and generally provided helpful guidance when I needed it. I definitely would recommend her and her partner Jennifer Martin.

We loved our Prairie Village home but its layout was not ideal for our growing family. Mary Deacy and Jennifer Martin did a fantastic job designing a new addition to the back of our side-to-side split level home. The remodel included our dream kitchen, a mudroom, a new living space, and a screened-in porch and patio. They preserved the things we loved about our home and made the new space look like it had been there from the beginning. In fact, we like the look of the back of our house with the addition more than we did before. During the building process both Mary and Jennifer were available and came on-site several times to monitor the progress. They were always available in a very timely manner if questions arose.

We hired Summit Architecture to design a screened porch addition. Mary and Jennifer came over for an initial meeting to understand our ideas, needs and preferences and also assessed any structural and building code issues we may encounter. They promptly had three initial designs for us to choose from. We selected our favorite and then got to work on the smaller details of the design. They guided us through the process of setting up surveys, structural engineers and other pre-construction assessments, understood our city zoning requirements and variances, led us through the architectural review board approval process, and provided excellent plans and details for our builder. They really thought through all of the small details that make our porch so enjoyable. We were so pleased with the design of the porch, their attention to detail, and guidance through the process. Our new porch is now our favorite room in the house. I would highly recommend Summit Architecture!
