Mother Hubbard's Kitchens

I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience I had with Mother Hubbard's Kitchens. From the moment I met designer Mandy to the last finishing detail....all went so smoothly. The customer service is top notch. Great communication and they worked with me for timelines. The cabinets are beautiful and well built. They worked with a stone company and coordinated all the installation. They even recommended a great contractor to look after all of the electrical and plumbing, tiling etc. It so hard to coordinate all of those extra trades to work within a time frame. Jon was excellent! They transformed a small outdated townhouse kitchen into a luxury space.

Mother Hubbards were contracted to install a new kitchen for us in a newly renovated space. However a mistake was made in taking the final measurements before the plans were sent to the manufacturing facility. The measurements did not take into account the removal of some unnecessary framing around the ceiling even though it was made clear from our first conversations that the framing would be removed. Fast forward and the kitchen arrived but designed for the space that still included the old framing. As a result we no longer had the full height cabinets we wanted and had to rely on the installer to fit a bespoke solution to at least give us something that appeared acceptable but far removed from what we wanted. I do understand that mistakes can be made but the measure of a company is how they respond to these mistakes. In this case it took nearly a month of communication from me for the company to admit a mistake may have been made. The only effort to rectify the mistake was an offer to refund the cost of some fascia that would have been used in the original design. That fell rather short of what I would consider to be a genuine attempt to rectify a situation where we no longer had the kitchen we designed or more importantly, paid for. The situation was not helped by having to schedule a second visit to repair issues from the initial installation, some minor damage and two panels installed without the finish being correctly applied. Overall we were very disappointed with the whole experience. Due to the policy of having to complete payment before the kitchen is installed we were left with very few options if the kitchen wasn’t installed as designed.

Kitchen was installed to spec and problems that occurred along the way are in the process of being rectified by the installation manager.

We started our renovation with just replacing a set of kitchen taps and wound up renovating the entire kitchen. Mother Hubbard's Kitchens was the best choice we could have made. Upon entering Mother Hubbard's Kitchen we encountered senior designer Matthew Wright who was very professional and guided us every step of the way making the renovation of our kitchen go very smoothly. It truly was a wonderful experience as our kitchen turned out to be the utmost functional kitchen to work in with every wall used to create a pleasant atmosphere to prepare food. Mathew's suggestions for deep, full extension drawers, pantry and opting for a single slide-in stove instead of a wall oven and countertop stove created more work space and the feeling of a larger kitchen than we had. Workmanship is excellent and cabinets are of high quality. We would and will recommend Mother Hubbard's Kitchens to anyone thinking of doing a full kitchen renovation.

Mandy was amazing to work with. She was friendly, very knowledgeable, and quick to respond. She addressed all of our inquiries and has a great eye for design. She helped make the decision making process a much easier. I would highly recommend her for any kitchen/mudroom/pantry design needs.

I've been planning on redoing my kitchen since we bought the house 13 years ago. So I had very definite ideas about what I wanted. Mandy George was able to accommodate all of them and improved on the layout immeasurably by changing a peninsula to an island. The kitchen has wonderful flow, tonnes of storage and good primary and secondary work areas. The cabinetry is a beautiful natural birch reverse shaker style and my island is stained a custom blue that I just adore. Everyone I intereacted with at Mother Hubbards was excellent! Even when the inevitable small hiccups happened they were fixed promptly and professionally. I could not be happier.

From the very first time we walked in the door and were greeted, to the very fast drawing I scribbled for her on my ideas, to the many emails and pictures, dealing with the very professional team at Mother Hubbards was a pleasure. They listened and addressed all questions and made wonderful suggestions and incorpoated and executed perfectly the kitchen I wished for! Very pleased with the detailed drawings that both my electrician and plumber needed. The installers called, confirmed and arrived and cleaned up after themselves. A couple of adjustments were dealt with quickly. Looking forward to their expetise should we ever do another kitchen. : )
