We were planning to tear out the hedge all along the back of our property and needed some suggestions for native evergreens that would provide food for birds. We had Peggy come out for a consultation and were thrilled with her ideas. The existing hedge was wax myrtle, which is native here, and Peggy recommended leaving some of that and filling in with other natives rather than tearing everything out and starting over. There is nothing formal about our landscaping and her recommendations look beautiful. She also helped us get the plants we needed. And, by not removing the entire hedge, we saved money in removal and replacement costs. Thanks, Peggy! We look forward to our next project.

Peggy designed a beautiful landscape, front and back, adjusting for our budget and taste. We purchased a home with a wild wooded area behind and a burnt out hill in front. We now have a our own secret garden. We were very pleased with the final result. The hardscape, irrigation, lighting and planting specialists she brought to the job were true experts!

Peggy has the rare talent, so essential to a design professional, to be able to listen to what you say you want and then to show you how to get what you really need. The depth of her experience really shows. Her ability to coordinate disparate schedules has always been a plus to us in the Virginia Society of Landscape Designers.

We are extremely pleased with our newly re-landscaped home as planned by Peggy Krapf (HeartsEase Landscaping) and executed by John Spears (John Spears Landscaping). We lost a large part of our shrubs and plants during the 2013-14 winter. Peggy truly listened to what we had and what we wanted, and designed an excellent plan. We were particularly interested in attracting birds and pollinators to our property. Additionally we have a lot of hungry deer that share our property with us. Peggy's extensive knowledge of native plants and overall experience helped create a great plan. Then John and his workers executed it perfectly. (See Pictures). Peggy Krapf listens to the home owner and puts together a landscape design plan that works well for our geography. She is very good incorporating the home owner's ideas and using existing plants in attempt to keep the budget under control. She is knowledgeable about plant species and was tremendously helpful with our exterior renovation. In addition, she knows most of the landscape/hardscape installers in our area and is able to match you up with the appropriate company who can deliver on the plan.
