Landscape Design lead by Mike and his rt hand man Homer are First Class! Made building our pool a pleasure. Even in Boerne Mike turned our dream pool and courtyard into our own private resort. We had Land Design build our pool and do all the landscaping around our new home. We are incredibly pleased with the way it all turned out. We were recommended to Mike from a long time friend of the family. He described Mike as the “best in the business.” After everything was said and done I do have to agree. Communication and expectations were clear from the first initial call with Mike. Our first meeting, he listened to what we wanted to accomplish and remembered small details to include in the project. The design he presented to us was easy to understand, detailed and exactly what we wanted. When it came time for Homar and the team to execute, they did outstanding. We previously put a pool in and I was a little worried about all the digging and work being done around the pool. I just remember Homar telling me, “don’t worry, if anything gets messed up, I can fix it.” I don’t recall anything getting messed up but I do know I appreciated that confidence. This team truly transformed our backyard all while keeping great communication going and a clean worksite when the work day was done. There was follow up after the project was complete to make sure we knew exactly how to take care of it all. Overall, I can’t say enough about Mike, Homar and team. Mike and his team did an amazing job! It is very rare that you find a someone who has the vision, knowledge, and skills in pool building and landscaping. Mike was able to design and create different spaces in our backyard, that allows for maximum entertaining. He took what we wanted in our imagination, and translated it to real life. From the entrance, to the outdoor kitchen and the pool, we are able to enjoy every area of our yard. His team was always on time, courteous, and took great pride in their work. The land design team was fabulous. They transformed my backyard from uninspired to an oasis. The team arrived when promised and were professional and hard working. Our project consisted of rock work, patio work, flower beds and new grass. I was given an exact plan and it they delivered as promised. I highly recommend them.

Exceeded all expectations on a large pool and outdoor cabana with kitchen build. The crew was first class, as was working with Mike and Nancy. I hired Land Design to landscape the property right around my home. The crew was very professional, answered all my questions and, most importantly, stayed within my budget. They did an amazing job!.

My existing pool which was over 30 years old developed structural cracks in the existing gunite shell. After researching many options on a solution, and meeting with various pool construction experts I had two options, either remove the existing pool, or build a new pool within the existing pool shell. I chose the later option since my entire family had enjoyed our pool for many years, and none of us were about to give it up. Mike Logsdon (http://landdesigntx.houzz.com) was instrumental in making this project a reality. His crews worked to save the existing pool shell, and rebuild the entire pool. The pictures below are the finished result of the project. I've also added a few pictures of the Gunite, and Plaster being applied for you to get an idea of the "Before, and After".

My husband and I are beyond pleased with Mike’s design for our hill country home. We wanted a pool and surrounding area that looked like a natural part of our landscape. More of a pond look vs. pool. It more than met our visions. Since we had never been pool owners, Mike worked with me in my ever evolving visions. He incorporated my mental visions but reigned me in when my wishes were not reasonable. In addition to our pool and pavilion he worked with us to landscape and create walkways for our front yard. As his design came together my husband said “This looks like a show home.” After a decade of living with too many rocks, Mike and his fabulous crew incorporated them beautifully into the design. We feel beyond blessed to have worked with and become friends with Mike, Homer, Ed, Eli and all the great guys he has in his crews.

Excellent quality of work, finished in the expected time frame, and within the budget. Working with Mike was easy. He is friendly but very professional and managed the project well. I was looking for a pool designer in San Antonio and found Mike at Land Design. I built a pool DIY style (homeowner as general contractor) using the design Mike created and the subcontractors he recommended. During the design phase Mike worked closely with us to ensure the design included what we wanted but also stayed within our budget. Pool builders in south Texas are a dime a dozen and I am so glad that I found Mike because he is a master of design and cared as much about our pool as we did. I was looking for a person who could design a pool customized for our backyard and found a talented person who truly took pride in their work and put 100 percent into the job. I needed subcontractors to start the building process and Mike provided references for people he regularly worked with. As I contacted people I found that when I mentioned Mike they all had nothing but great things to say about him. Some of them even stopped our discussion to take time and talk about their experience working with him, every single one was positive. I had never built a pool before so there were plenty of times that I had questions. Five months after paying Mike for a design he was there when I called or texted. Mike took time to pass along his knowledge of the steps in the building process and offer advice and guidance. He even stopped by several times to check on the work. He went above and beyond to help us build our pool and he was just the designer. During the process I learned how much the pool builder, who will be acting as the general contractor must advocate for the homeowner. The implementation of the actual pool design is so much more than showing someone the design and asking them to implement it. Being the general contractor on our pool I found out how much effort and time is required to ensure that a pool is built exactly as designed. For example, the steps and benches in our pool were designed one way but turned out slightly different. In order to get those steps and benches to look the way they did in the design I, as the general contractor, would have to have been there yelling over the noise of the cement truck at the people pouring the concrete, hawk eying their work as they shaped the benches. As you can see in each of the pool pictures on this site, Mike's benches are beautiful. These are the small details that Mike will labor over as the pool is being built. I talked with several homeowners who recently built $100,000+ pools through some of the big name pool builders in the San Antonio area. These homeowners were asked by their pool builder to make compromises during the pool building process. For example, one person’s pool was built so close to their house that when they stepped off the existing back patio, they would step in water because the excavation was done improperly. Their pool builder did not fix it and instead they had to modify their existing back patio. Mike will never ask you to compromise. When I encountered issues and consulted with Mike to find out what he would do, he told me he would have the work redone. Redoing work is expensive, it takes time, and to get it done it requires a general contractor who cares enough to advocate strongly on behalf of the homeowner and be willing to absorb the cost. The quality of the pool starts with a design that is not only aesthetically pleasing but one that has building specifications that are customized for the backyard. Our backyard is on a downward slope and Mike's design included specifications to account for special circumstances such as drainage and thicker walls to ensure structural integrity of the pool as the backside of the pool is partially out of the ground. The quality of the pool also depends on the the quality of work of each person during all steps of the building process. When we started thinking about building a pool, we only thought about all of the great things that go along with the pool such as kids playing, private swimming in our backyard, and pool parties. We did not think about things like the structural integrity of the pool in 20 years. Throughout the building process I spoke with a number of subcontractors and heard horror stories about things that went wrong with pools such as cracking, shifting, and leaking caused by poor design and bad workmanship. Many people worked on our pool during each step in the building process. Each person who touched the pool had to be the best at what they did so that we did not turn into one of those stories in 20 years. I had first hand experience working with the subcontractors Mike works with. These were people who Mike carefully selected, people who he has worked with for years, and they were the very best at what they did. All but two steps in our building process were done by people Mike recommended and all steps went perfect except for those two. All of Mike's subcontractors were honest, reliable, gave us a fair price, and most importantly the quality of their work was nothing short of outstanding. If you choose to go with Mike to design and build your pool you will get all of those things. Now that all is said and done we have a beautiful backyard with a spectacular swimming pool. If I could do one thing different I would have had Mike work as the general contractor as well as the designer. If you are looking for a pool builder who has a gift for design, who thinks through the details, who works with subcontractors who work to high standards, who takes pride in their work, and who will make sure that the job is done to spec without compromises then call Mike at Land Design. There are a lot of pool builders out there but if you choose Land Design you will be a person and not just another project. Mike will care just as much as you do about your pool and the quality of work that is done every step of the way. He will design an amazing pool and outdoor area that will exceed your expectations and one that will be built to the highest quality.

Mike Logsdon thinks and works outside the box. He recognizes and considers highest and best use of the space, and incorporates outstanding design into his finished product. I cannot recommend him highly enough. My back patio area, built with material "harvested" from my property, turned out beautifully unique.

Land Design has proven indispensable during the design and construction of our home. We hired Mike to lead the design on everything outside the home. The decorative concrete driveways and porches, the tumbled wall entry, the custom metal gates, landscaping, plant selection, even the stone selection on the exterior of the house. Now we are currently working on the final plans for the swimming pool, pavilion, and outdoor living environment and again he has far exceeded our expectations.

Land Design did a great Hill Country design on our pool and surrounding landscaping. Mike sculpted the curve of the pool , spa, and water fall around the natural lay of the existing rock so everything looked like it naturally belonged there. We get compliments on it all the time!

My husband and I were extremely pleased with what Mike Logsdon designed for our pool and landscaping. He listened to what our lifestyle would be like, making logical suggestions. With respect to budgeting, he was creative in offering options of varying price points. The terrain surrounding our completed house posed some challenges, but he was up to them by using boulders and river rock. Plants will be added once our fence is in this spring. Strongly recommend Mike and Land Design; everyone was professional and experts in their field.

Mike did the design for our pool and outdoor patio. He was wonderful to work with. He incorporated my ideas with his (mostly his!) and the project turned out beautiful. Mike Logsdon of Land Design designed and built our pool and surrounding area. The pool has a hot tub, waterfalls and is surrounded by 3 levels of decks leading to a cabana. It also has a bathroom house. Not only is Mike a top flight designer, more importantly he is extremely attentive to the "build" of the design. No detail is too small and he strives to get it right. We have actually had professional photographers pay us to bring clients out for photo sessions! The work of Mike and Land Design has brought our entire family tons of joy, peace and fun. We hired Landdesign to design a backyard paradise for our home. Having a lot of acreage to work with and trees and slopes to contend with, we needed a professional designer with a creative vision that could make the landscape, patio and pool perfect for our situation. We found exactly that in the design that Mike Logsdon prepared for our home. Other pool companies didn't seem to offer the total package that would include the landscaping in the project. We really wanted that so that it would all work together. The project turned out as beautiful as it was drawn. We enjoyed working with Mike and his team and the work was done timely and very professionally. Our project was completed about 5 years ago and we have not had any issues with the pool equipment or design at all. We were very pleased with the overall project and quality we received. Mike recently completed a pool for my wife and I and we couldn't be happier.
