Hi Rick, I must say that I was extremely taken back when I 1st read what you wrote. My first thought was to not reply but I left the comment there for 2 1/2 years for everyone to see, "not smart on my part at all". What I will do is to state a few facts. I am sorry that you didn't like this explanation that I gave to you when we spoke on the telephone. To me, it is quite obvious that it wouldn't make a difference for me to explain it again but I will try. My Team & I were very excited about your project when you originally retained us to be involved in your project. I am very sorry that you put so little value on the amount of time that my Team & I put into the preparation of your project. There were (67 hours) put into the preparation of your project which consisted of design consultation meetings, product selections, research on windows with architectural glass, Copper Ceiling & Architectural Copper moldings, two site visits, measuring Kitchen & Pantry areas, initial design Concept Drawings, detailed Kitchen Floor Plan & Elevations, detail Pantry Floor Plan & Elevations, 1st revision drawings and 2nd revision drawings. The value that you are putting on these types of services would come out to an average of $7.00 to $14.00 per hour. The industry rate for this type of Design Service is between $125.00- $175.00/hr. This would be $74.00/ hr- 40% below the lowest Industry rate. I believe that you made the right choice in not moving forward with this project at that time but will certainly allow the use of the original retainer amount to be used toward this project at a later time. We both know the reason behind your decision not to move forward with your project but I ask that you consider removing this comment from this sight and let your conscience be your guide when considering my request. It was such a pleasure in working on this kitchen. Originally, there would have been plenty of space to put the things that you would like to have at your fingertips when working in the kitchen and preparing to entertain your guests. There wasn't any thought about making sure that every utensil that you own to be within your reach and visually in your eye site. The pantry that was customized to be able to do that was the key to really making sure that this space functioned beyond the clients expectations!!! I just love the way that this kitchen gets used by two of the nicest people you would ever want to meet! Happy Holidays to you and your family and friends!!!!!!!
