Lifescape completely renovated our front landscaping. The project involved removing many old trees as well as all the plants and lawn down to bare dirt. They built a series of mounds, dry creek beds, and put in decorative boulders followed by planting new trees, plants, and a smaller lawn area. Additionally, the project involved a new irrigation system and landscape lighting. Jeff, the owner, was great to work with, very accommodating and responsive to our preferences. He has been in this business a long time and it shows. He has a very experienced crew led by Jose. Their knowledge and years of experience showed through. The result is beautiful. We would use Lifescape again without any reservation.

What can I say? Lifescape with Jeff and Jose have to be the best. I reached out on Houzz looking for landscape consultants. Jeff was the first to respond. He is extremely well connected. Introduced me to an architect Leslie McKenna who very quickly was able to design and architect something that we loved. Moving on to the project. Our project was fairly involved but Jeff’s attention to detail and his expert project planning made it all very predictable. The crew led by Jose are simply the best. Extremely capable, professional, incredibly courteous and on-time. Jeff plans everything from acquisition of material to outsourcing various aspects of the project. Things just happened with little or no involvement from us. Jeff is meticulous about updating project status and you know what to expect. Jose went out of the way to execute on requirements that were outside the scope of work. The estimates and quality of work were still of the highest quality. While there are a few things outstanding, Jose and Jeff have committed to getting them done. This has been an extremely positive experience. Highly recommend, Jeff, Jose and Lifescape!

Jeff installed our beautiful landscape during the pandemic, and many parts of it were complicated. For example, we had him lay slate on a concrete patio to match the slate indoors. To do this, the concrete pad had to be ground so that the water (rain) moved away from the house. In addition we had HUGE concrete slabs in the back that had to be demolished and removed. We installed 2 water features and with his crew we hand selected & placed each piece of flagstone prior to it being set in concrete. His crew was very amenable when I asked for changes, for example, to the location of the underground sprinkler valves. His paver crew is outstanding and the paver patio & walkways are beautiful. We had our raised planter beds custom made to achieve the rustic look we wanted and Jeff's crew installed them, added irrigation, and then installed boards on top for seating. He supplied us with BEAUTIFUL, healthy plants. He worked with us to figure out how to add cafe lights in the back so now we have a party atmosphere at night. My husband was not in favor of this project when we started it. Now he stands outside and admires how beautiful it it. Jeff converted him!

I highly recommend Lifescape Custom Landscaping. The owner Jeff was excellent, he really cares about doing the job right and making sure we were happy with the result. Several times he suggested alternatives to reduce the cost the project. He had quoted a custom gazebo that we had approved, but once the job started he recommended an alternative that looked great and was significantly cheaper. His teams were equally great. Hugo, the foreman on our project, was always positive, upbeat, and very responsive. He would go out of his way to make sure we were happy with the work. He moved plants that had already been planted, dug new trenches when we wanted to move the electrical outlets, and went out of his way to please us. We are very happy with our new backyard and will use Lifescape again when we upgrade our pool in a few years. Highly recommended.

We bought an older home and wanted to redo the landscaping in the front and back yards. Lifescape fit the vision that we wanted to create for our home. Cammie Brown of Serenity by Dezign, created a beautifully designed plan for Jeff to implement. Jeff's crew, led by Jose, are real craftsman. They are very hard working but also friendly. The paver hardscape flows from the front yard though the back in a series landings, walkways and patios. A flagstone walk connects the pavers to a decomposed granite patio surrounded with a boulder wall. The materials and installation are top notch. The planting areas contain mounds and boulders, that creates a natural look. Since the completion of our project in February, many people that have walked by have stopped to say how much they like our yard.

I hired Lifescape Custom Landscaping in the spring of 2019 to redo the entire landscape for our approx. 10,000 sq ft yard. (My career was in large public facility management so I have worked with contractors (landscape included) for many years.) Jeff Veliquette, the owner of Lifescape Custom Landscaping and his very competent foreman and crews were truly a joy to work with. They are knowledgable, professional, flexible, good communicators and they worked collaboratively with my landscape designer throughout the design and installation process. This was a complex project because of style of garden and the fact that is was on a very tight timeline with other subcontractors (painters, carpenters, electricians) involved. We hired Jeff to upgrade our landscaping, install lighting, completely redo our sprinkler system and also maintain our property. He immediately connected us with Cammie Brown from Serenity by Dezign to come up with a plan. Jeff had a quote to us with in 2 days of the completed plan and started the project 2 weeks later. He helped us get all our trees trimmed, and old plants removed in a couple of days. The project took 3 weeks, his crew came every day, and worked diligently. Our soil was very compacted, it was hard work, and they always had a great spirit, and respected our property. We hired Lifescape to implement a design for our backyard as well as sprucing up our front yard. With our kids grown and out of the house, we wanted to change the backyard from a kid-oriented yard to an entertaining space. Even though we had a design, Jeff was instrumental in helping us decide how big to make our built-in BBQ unit, which granite to use for the top, and other smaller choices. He also recommended a fire pit that we have loved. He communicated well with the schedule and the budget. It was completed in a timely manner despite all the rain. Any budget changes were a result of choosing a higher priced item than what was on the original quote. Jeff is very professional, friendly and easy to work with. We also really liked the foreman's on the job and the other staff. The follow-up after completion has also been very good. Overall, we are glad we chose Lifescape for our job!

Jeff and the entire Lifescape team really really amazing to work with. Firstly, Jeff is very professional in his approach and communicates what will happen during the project clearly. There was never any question as to how things would proceed. What impressed me the most was how professional and courteous his onsite team was. Jeff and his team did the complete landscaping of your property. We had a landscape plan created. Jeff provided us with a very detailed bid. He worked with us, making several changes to the plan, to it keep the project within our budget. The project included a bocce ball court, irrigation, planting, fencing, pavers, lighting, gas lines, electric outlets, a water feature, a wood porch and several different surfaces areas. Jeff managed the entire project, scheduling all the demolition, including a swimming pool, removal of debris, running gas and electric lines, the purchasing and delivery of all materials, and plants. Jeff advised us on which brand of pavers and lighting to use. The project started at the scheduled time. The same crew and foreman were on site the entire project. The crew was very professional, on time every day. When they left the site, everything was put away. I was able to watch the crew work. They did incredibly detailed work. As in all projects, there were a couple of unforeseen items. Jeff and team were able to handle anything that came up. During the project, we asked for several changes. Jeff was very flexible and accommodating. We had never undertaken such a large project. I had no idea of the amount of work that need to be done. I was amazed with the care and attention to detail that was put in by the crew. There is real value in having Jeff and his team. They made the project as stress free as possible.

Cannot say enough good things about Jeff and his team. Jeff actively and effectively communicated with us and our designer throughout the entire project. After reviewing our design ideas and our property, he was the first to come back with a competitive bid. He finished the job within budget. When we sought to make some modifications or additions to the original plan along the way, he gave us a quick and timely quote for the "extras" and stuck to his estimates. Jeff's team is also excellent. Self-directed and motivated, they executed on the plans flawlessly. They arrived on time everyday and, most importantly, they cleaned up the site at the end of the day so everything looked tidy even in the midst of the heaviest part of the job. I will use Jeff and his team for future jobs and recommend them without hesitation.

I hired Lifescape to perform a complete overhaul of my front and back yards (on a 8000 sq ft. lot approx.) based solely on a conceptual drawing from my landscape designers. The job included demolition, extensive infrastructural work (grading, drainage, plumbing, irrigation, electrical), paver and stepping stone installation, raised garden boxes, trees and other plantings throughout, new turf and lighting. My designers highly recommended Jeff, and with good reason: he and his entire team are focused on quality work and customer service. My project certainly wasn't a large job for this company, but I was treated like a VIP throughout the 2-1/2 month project period. I liked that all of Lifescape's employee and subcontractors were considerate, careful, and friendly. The site was left clean every day. I never had a problem getting a hold of my project manager, Jose, to get things changed, or get answers to my questions. Kudos to Miguel, Eric, Raul, and all the on-site crew (and there were many!). If you're going to have people working around your home for 10 weeks, these are definitely the people to have.

Jeff and his team have been great to work with throughout the process of totally re-doing our landscape/hardscape--front, side, back and courtyard. Jeff has been attentive and responsive throughout the project--helping to improve the design during the installation and really listening to what we wanted for our outdoor living space. Jeff Veliquette and his team did the landscaping for my front and backyard. They were very professional, responsive, and detailed oriented throughout the entire process. My landscape designer recommended Jeff because of his experience in building bocce courts. The bocce court turned out wonderful as did our arbor, fire pit, and veggie bed which were all custom made. We redesigned our backyard and hired Lifescape as the construction company. We are very pleased with the results and overall experience working with Jeff and his team. They were very skilled, professional, hard-working, courteous and punctual. I really appreciated Jeff's input on the feasibility of the design and his no-BS approach to the project, as well as the excellent communication and responsiveness. This was particularly challenging because it also involved a pool company resurfacing the pool and building a wall as well as reconfiguring a very complicated IPE deck and replacing a hot tub. Loved this company!! We had our back yard landscaped and when we do the front yard we will definitely use them again. Appointments that were scheduled were always kept, and on time. . The workers assigned to our project were always at the house early and ready to work. They worked very hard all day, cleaning up after each days work. They were respectful of our neighbors, whether it was regarding noise, products being delivered, or the parking of personal or company cars/ trucks. I can't say enough good things about this company. I love my new front yard and so do my neighbors! It was great working with Jeff, John, Jose and team. I realize requesting a putting green in your front yard is a bit unconventional but it turned out really nice and I enjoy playing. I've worked with many contractors on many projects and Jeff and his company Lifescape has easily been the best. He's a real pro. The project he did for me was completely re-landscaping a quarter acre lot. Everything including all of the hardscape was stripped and re-done. Even though I had used a design architect for the design, there were still a lot of on the fly adjustments that needed to be done. Jeff listens and provides very insightful feedback and professional opinions. He truly strives for perfection and customer satisfaction. Lifescape Custom Landscaping did a fantastic job on our front yard remodel. We hired a landscape architect, Robin Salsburg of Vision Garden Design, to design the front yard and hired Jeff Veliquette and his company Lifescape Custom Landscaping to implement it. They started the project right away. Jeff’s crew was very friendly and courteous and willing to spend time answering all of our questions. They left the yard and street as clean as possible. As the project progressed, several issues came up. Jeff dealt with them easily. Jeff had a few ideas for changes from the original plans. We discussed them with Robin and agreed that these changes would be a good idea. Together, Jeff and Robin made our front yard a 10+. The project was completed on time and on budget. There were no big surprises. Well, one surprise; for a couple of months after the job was done, Jeff’s crew came out once a week to maintain the yard. Jeff and his crew are total professionals. Jeff worked well with our landscape designer and her plans. The project was a design/build, and Jeff and the crew worked with our change orders seamlessly. They either did what we request, explained why they couldn't, or came up with a better plan. This was the biggest home renovation (even though it technically was not to our home, but the landscape all around it) we've ever done. It was a huge investment for us. We got bids from 3 landscape contractors and chose Jeff. His price was fair (neither the cheapest, nor the most expensive), and he was very detailed, responsible and responsive. Our Landscape Architect recommended Jeff and Lifescape Custom Landscaping and we are certainly glad he did. When we met Jeff to discuss the project, he was on time, professional in his approach, easy to communicate with and very clear about what we could expect and how much it would cost. After agreeing to proceed, nothing changed in his approach which was very comforting in so much as we knew we didn’t just get a sales pitch but rather a project plan he was committed to. Jeff was always easy to contact and was regularly in contact with us to ensure the project was progressing as we’d agreed and discussed. He was on site at least once a week and whenever there was deviation either by necessity or at our request from the plan, there was two way discussion and agreement. Jeff was never about what he wanted to give us but rather what we wanted the finished project to look like. The team we had day in day on site were punctual, respectful and extremely hard workers. There was no “down time” other than for weather delays and the on site manager Rueben was outstanding. This was one of the best working relationships I’ve ever experienced with any contractor and the end results completely justified our trust in Jeff and his team. Aside from anything else, Jeff is a genuine guy who cares about his work and clients. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and have no hesitation in recommending him.

Working with Jeff and his crews was a great experience. The work progressed rapidly because they worked every day weather permitting, arrived when they said they would, and left everything neat and clean daily. We hired Jeff in Fall 2016 to implement a complex outdoor renovation. He was on time and on budget. More importantly, Jeff is incredibly easy to work with which made the whole project stress free. Jeff is service oriented, professional, and detail-oriented. Whenever I had a question, he got back to me within 24 hours with updated plans, quotes, and ideas. Texts, emails, phone calls were all returned promptly, even on weekends. Jeff did extensive drainage work, and there was not a single problem after the storm of the decade. We just finished a large project with Jeff and couldn't be happier. We interviewed several contractors for the project. In one sentence the job was done beautifully. We hired Lifescape to redo our front and backyards. Jeff was very detailed and prompt during the bidding process. We did a few round of adjustment to get the contract to the price point we wanted to. We also hired a designer for the project since Jeff wanted us to have the design before he could start. The job was tricky since we used large 24x36" pavers but the team did a fantastic job installing them. With a round pool the sloping was let's just say not trivial. Overall this company paid very close attention to details. We are very happy about the outcome. Our project manager Jose was top notch. He would get anything done for you. Excellent customer services. Throughout the process we requested number of changes which Jeff (owner) accommodated very easily. I can't stress enough how detailed oriented the crew were. After a terrible experience with another landscaper, we were anxious to find a qualified, reliable and professional company to landscape our entire front and backyard in Los Altos. Jeff and his team were always respectful, responded to any queries the same day and stuck to the timeline that they provided us with. This review is long overdue. Lifescapes completed a backyard project for us last fall. From the beginning, it was wonderful working with Jeff. We picked John Cahalan as our designer from one of Jeff's recommended designers. John's work was exceptional - he took time to meet with us and really understand what we wanted from the yard (we used Houzz's ideabooks to communicate different ideas that we were exploring). The project took about 3 months to complete and throughout the process Jeff's team was extremely professional. They always went to great lengths to ensure progress was timely, materials were picked on time and most importantly - that we were happy with the results. His payment plans were very organized and detailed with very few surprises along the way - which speaks highly to his experience in the field. Overall, we were very happy with the results and would definitely recommend Lifescapes and John to anyone looking for a landscape contractor.

Lifescape was an outstanding company to work with from the start of our project to the very end. The landscape architect they recommended, Juanita Salisbury, was a pleasure to work with and produced a very thorough and detailed design. Jeff Villiquette and his crew, led by foreman Jose, did an amazing job converting her plan into a finished landscape. Because of the size of the project, it took several months to complete. Jeff kept us well-informed throughout of upcoming activities. When it was time to select materials for various aspects of the project Jeff was very flexible about meeting at the suppliers on our schedule and offered numerous helpful suggestions. His billing was accurate and thorough, and the work was completed at the initial quote (ignoring some additional items we requested during the project, for which he provided additional quotes before executing). His crew was extremely professional, and their workmanship was excellent. The only significant issue we had during the work was a snafu with permits, which caused a few-week delay. But Jeff worked with the city to get everything cleared up. And the post-project support has also been good, including replacing all plants that didn't make it the first time around with new ones, at no additional charge. I highly recommend Lifescape.

We hired Lifescape to design and install a custom backyard including a stone patio, cedar arbor, stone fire pit and kitchen island, and the results are stunning! Jeff is a true professional, and his attention to detail is unmatched. We were very pleased with Lifescape and their quality of work. We reduced the grass area in our backyard by 60% and following our landscape designer, Lifescape installed a new grass area, a large plant area, irrigation, two paver patios, flagstone steps, and lighting. We remodeled our entire back yard adding pool, patio, bar/bbq, fire pit and redesigning the landscape. Lifescape had done a similar job in the neighborhood. Their reputation on quality and attention to details led us to select them. In addition to meeting our expectations, the owner was always available; reviewing the work of his crew but also suggesting other details we had not paid attention to during the design phase. Billing was right on budget with regular updates on actual costs vs budget. Overall we are very pleased by the work done and would not hesitate to work with this company again. They are maintaining the backyard today. This solution from design to maintenance has been a real advantage enabling us to just enjoy a wonderful backyard.

Lifescape took on a project to build out our backyard patio, planter boxes and driveway. They took the blueprint from our design consultant and fitted it into their existing schedule. The project lasted 6 weeks, the crew were very conscientious, cleaned up each day and we were informed on what steps were coming up next. Jeff completely redid our front and back yards. Jeff contoured the front yard around a beautiful dry creek and added low water plants. Jeff neatly incorporated a shade structure, patio, lawn and three fruit trees into our small back yard. We are very pleased with the quality of the work. Late last year given the drought situation in the Bay Area, we decided to relandscape our front yard to remove the grass (over 1000 square feet). Jeff and his crew did a quality job with attention to detail. They installed landscaping, irrigation, pavers, raised planters, arbor and lighting. The backyard was bare ground and Lifescape designed and built the grading and drainage necessary to make the project design work. Jeff was easy to work with. He also made complementary design suggestions to our landscape designer's original plans. The suggestion to incorporate lighting, added another dimension to the finished look of the project. This outdoor living space turned out as successful as our first project with Lifescape.

After having our new landscape design completed by John Aldrich, we set out to find a contractor to build a New Orleans style courtyard on one side of the house, vegetable planter boxes on the other and a complete backyard including a raised hardscape, fire pit, arbor, tons of masonry work, installation of fruit trees and other landscaping. We asked for bids from 4 contractors and, while Jeff was not the cheapest or the most expensive, we believed that the attention to detail and interest in earning our business he showed during the bid process would carry through to the project itself. And we turned out to be completely right. The quality of Jeff's work, timeliness, respect for budget and so on are all well documented in other reviews - and we agree with all of them. What we liked most about working with Jeff was that he didn't hesitate to suggest alternatives to what was in the plan - not because he was trying to extract more money from the project but because he really believed that we would be happier with the result. He was also very patient with us when we sometimes needed more time to make certain decisions and found other things to work on so that we didn't delay the project overall. We are extremely pleased with the result and truly enjoyed working with Jeff throughout the process. We used Jeff and Lifescape for a backyard renovation that included outdoor fire pit, lots of bluestone paving, rock walls and a complete built-in outdoor kitchen. I love looking at my backyard! Jeff and his crew, including Juanita, the landscape architect he introduced to me, were professional and extraordinarily comfortable with whom to work. My project was straightforward in that no hardscape was required - just planting (sod and plants), lighting and irrigation changes. Lifescape just finished a big hardscape project for us which included completely new driveway, stairs up the street to the house, and walkway near the street. It was not simple as we had recently remodeled the house and wanted the pavers for the driveway to go together with the bluestone on the front porch. The new stairs needed to both go with the driveway and porch but also tie in with the fieldstone we already had in place with our front landscaping. Lifescape did a fabulous job from start to finish. From initial designs to final completion, Jeff was a pleasure to work with. We felt that the pricing was competitive and the service was outstanding. We used Lifescape Custom Landscaping to transform our backyard from a vacant lot into an outdoor living space. Once the design and the budget were nailed down, Jeff and his team started immediately. The team arrived at the same time each morning and cleaned up before leaving at the end of each day. It was a fairly large project so as one might expect, there were some revisions to the design along the way as well as some unexpected outcomes that needed to be resolved. Through all of those changes, Jeff was patient and worked with us such that we were ultimately happy with the result.

We hired Jeff for a large project to entirely remodel our backyard based on a professional landscape architect design. This project involved a number of complexities including reducing 5 different hardscape levels down to 2, significant demolition work with limited access space, hardscaping around a multi-level pool, and our desire to preserve certain softscapes. The project was completed in about three months and included an entire custom-built outdoor grilling island and bar table, pavers, rock walls, stairs and landings, pool coping and resurfacing, fencing, planter beds, irrigation, all electrical/wiring/lights, and landscaping. Jeff was extremely professional and responsive throughout our project and very easy to work with. He delivered true value in providing his own suggestions for certain changes to the design as the project progressed. He was also flexible on items we wanted to change. Overall, because of Jeff, our design was significantly enhanced, leading to an excellent result. In addition, we found the LifeScape crew as well as the sub-contractors Jeff managed to be very professional with emphasis on quality and detail.
