Additionally, we first contacted Chris only a few weeks before my due date and they were able to move quickly to get the project done before I went into labor. I hired Home is How You Build It to design and build an accent wall in my condo downtown. They exceeded my expectations from start to finish. As a real estate professional I have come across and worked with contractors in every trade/skill imaginable. The crew from Home is How You Build It are probably the best I’ve worked with. They took pride in their work and it showed down to the last minute detail. In just two days they constructed a thing of beauty in my home and added thousands of dollars worth of value. I have no doubt I will do business with them again.

Chris and team were a dream to work with and I would highly recommend them. He was very communicative about the process for our accent wall in our bedroom and floating shelves in our dining area. He clearly has a passion for design and gave great suggestions to truly make both projects beautiful. His attention to detail was appreciated and the team was so quick - they finished both projects in one day. We will definitely use them again on future projects for our home :)

Chris and his team are amazing! I ordered some pretty low-quality stick on wallpaper. They warned me it was not ideal, but turned lemons into lemonade! This is the second project they've done for me and I keep coming back because I'm so pleased. Thank you!

Sometimes you have to live in a house for a while before you truly understand what “jobs” you need each space to do. That was the case for the small upstairs loft in our new-build condo. My daughter and I needed that tiny space to be a library, home school, tv room, guest sleeping area, and laundry center. No small task. Chris and his team came in with clever solutions - everything in the space is designed to do more than one job, and the custom design elements are both delightful and functional. The collaboration on style and color choices was easy, because Chris listened to my ideas and took cues from existing decor. This was way more than a renovation project for us - Chris and his team helped make our house a home.

We had a shed in the backyard which sat empty for years, which we wanted to convert into an office. It was a daunting task, so we put it off for a long time; the place had a tiny window and was oddly shaped, and we weren't sure if it would work at all. Fortunately, Chris came with the expert knowledge. He made a 3D render of the place, showed us different options and helped us first figure out what we wanted the place to look like. My wife wanted a cork board wall, and Chris was totally into it -- he came into the business making tiny houses, and is excited to make super-functional small spaces work. Another thing which worked great was his eye for a good deal! He shopped the local construction ReStore shop and found two massive, beautiful windows at a fraction of the original cost. Much appreciated! He also sourced cork rolls which he installed for a lovely wall. Chris is a perfectionist and it shows in his work! In the end, we have a gorgeous workspace which we're so excited to outfit as an office. The 3D render even helped us figure out how we want the layout to look, so we can go shopping with confidence. From design to build to fit and finish, Chris and his crew were fantastic. We're so happy we went with this company and would work with them again in a heartbeat.

I recently worked with Chris and the #HomeIsHowYouBuildIt crew on a board and batten project. Chris was communicative throughout the process and helped guide my vision to reality. He designed and installed 2 walls and painted a 3rd wall. It has changed the whole dynamic of the house. We can't recommend him and the crew enough -- they were respectful of our home/space, worked nonstop to get the job done in 2 days, and were attentive to the details. We can't wait to work with Chris again in the future!

Chris was super fast to respond to our project request. He scheduled a meeting to come by our house one day after connecting. From the first meeting to the very last day of our project he has been a pleasure to work with. He has great communication all throughout the planning process and during the project. I was still in the design process and he was great to bounce ideas with. He helped me visualize the end product before we started. Our project was completed super fast and with great attention to detail. I am beyond happy with how it turned out. I can’t wait to work with Chris and his team on our next project.

Chris was so easy to work with and I enjoyed every minute with him. Super fast to reply to emails and texts and beyond patient. As far as his work, I wouldn’t know where to start. He took time to get to know my style and gave me a piece of art (that’s how I see my feature wall) that was more than I even imagined. I can’t wait to work with him again. Thank you Chris. Amazing job! After seeing a feature wall in my friend's home, I reached out to Chris. He was able to tell my style immediately and came up with a few drawings. He came to my house and scanned my room and made a rendering. The end product looked just like it. Communication was great and he showed true professionalism fine-tuning the details until I was completely satisfied. The feedback has been amazing and I'm looking for the next project for him!

By the time we had our call with Chris, this was our third attempt to find the perfect designer. Even before we got off the call, my wife was mouthing to me, “He's our guy, we are making it work, I don’t care”. The energy and excitement that Chris brought to our project was what we needed. He spent extra time with us on the first consult, being able to answer so many questions we did not even know we had. He came up with creative solutions to our problems that seemed to have noooo good answers. Chris was upfront in saying this would be the largest project he ever took on, but he said it with such confidence I didn’t bat an eye at the comment. We had a very lean budget and he came up with pretty, sturdy yet affordable design solutions that I know you would find with a traditional designer. We saved hundreds/thousands of dollars thanks to his idea to go with countertops as tables, also he transformed our main co-working room with these beautiful, yet affordable hanging lights! He took so much of his own personal time to make sure we were satisfied and proud of our product. We took several trips to stores and had last minute “urgent” phone calls that Chris answered without hesitation. Working with our team took some patience, because our team consisted of our two young children, that of which were so overtired and bored half the time, but we caught Chris engaging and making them laugh and feel important in our project several times. The girls still ask when Chris”t” is coming to “help us build Poppy”. Although the initial work of Poppy is done, Chris has stayed in touch and supported our business and dreams in more ways than we could have imagined!

Chris did a really nice job of remodeling our bathroom from the ground up. The final room looked like the renderings, so we knew what to expect along the way. He was communicative about everything from the project timeline to when he would arrive every day to start work. He worked extremely hard through unexpected challenges to make sure we were satisfied with the results.
