I could not be more pleased that we chose Harris Doyle to build our new home. The experience has been nothing short of AMAZING! As first time home builders, my husband and I didn’t really know what to expect. As it happens, I went to high school with Kelly Nelson who works for Harris Doyle, so when we were first considering building with Harris Doyle, I called Kelly to get some information. We ended up talking for about an hour about not only Harris Doyle and Keeneland Valley (our new subdivision), but Kelly also shared valuable information with me about the home building process itself, since this was all new to me. Great job, Kelly! You are the reason we are here! After our decision to build with Harris Doyle, it was on to the design process. From the moment that Erin Brigham (designer) called me to set up our design appointments, my confidence in Harris Doyle was sealed. Erin was flexible with the design appointment schedule and we decided on three consecutive Friday mornings, as that is what worked for my husband’s work schedule. Erin even let me parade my mother and best friend in during various times to get their opinions on whatever we were selecting that day. Everyone at HD was incredibly accommodating to our needs. From the complimentary soft drinks, tea and coffee in the showroom to the fun hand soap in the bathroom – I always felt at home in the HD office/showroom. The best thing about the design process with Harris Doyle is that their showroom is loaded with samples. Everything is a sample. Want to see the Coffered Wall you love in the design book? Come around this corner right here… Having a hard time picking out carpet? Take your shoes off and let Erin put a carpet pad down for you to get the right feel. Beyond the samples, I always felt like Erin shared my vision for my new home. We didn’t just stick to the new homeowner binder they give you when you sign up – we were on Pinterest and Google constantly. Erin was always quick to give her expert advice as it relates to the different products and services they offer, but never offered up her opinion on a design element unless I specifically asked (which was a lot, by the way – both Erin and Alice have a fantastic knack for design!). I even asked for Erin’s advice, which she graciously lended, in refurbishing some old furniture to match our new house design after our design process was completed. I cannot wait to see the finished result. I know I will be just as impressed with our new home as I have been about the whole process with Harris Doyle.
